Rogue.
One who wanders from place to place, having no fixed dwelling, or not abiding in it, and usually without the means of honest livelihood.

He chased after me, something that I never expected would happen. Pack members looked at me and Roux who chased after me.

They looked at me like I had something all over my body, the stare which I don’t like but keep getting.

“Look, how shameless” I hear someone say, it didn’t stop me from moving farther away, it didn’t stop me from running until my leg ache, it didn’t stop the tears that streamed down my cheeks.

His voice were like echo in my mind, my soul, it called all of me, it needed all of me but I didn’t listen, I didn’t stop. I just kept running, running like I was running for my dear life. I didn’t mind the stare, I didn’t mind the feeling that he was calling and chasing after me.

The force kept commanding me to run, running into the woods until the will was no longer there and I collapsed on a fallen branch. I cleaned the tears that still fell like running water, unsure of what to do.

Few seconds and he was standing right in front of me, his hand, at the back of his head. He looked down at me, the sad crying me didn’t care but my wolf was already roughed up by his scent.

“Maya” his thick voice came out. It was calm, slightly irritated but was caring and yet comforting but I didn’t want myself to drown in it. I didn’t want him to see me as weak.

“Maya!” he called yet again but no reply. He squatted, so his face could reach mine, his hands on my cheeks, it felt really warm, the tingling sensation still made its way down my skin. I removed his hands from my cheeks, standing up immediately.

“Just leave me alone” I yelled at him almost sorry that I yelled but I wasn’t thinking straight.

He followed me as I walked even if I told him to leave me alone.

“Are you okay?” He asked

“I saw you around my office area and all of a sudden, you ran away” I looked at him in disbelief, he was so dumb, bad at reading emotions and well, he was quite a talker I would say, able to twist each word to his delight.

“You wanted to say something”

“Uhh… well, it’s nothing” My voice wasn’t audible but the croakiness in it had died down.

“About my health, I think I’m fine now and thanks for caring”

“It’s nothing” he said.

We walked side by side in solitude. It was calming, slightly awkward but it eased the tension I was feeling earlier.

I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did. Having a mate isn’t my problem and I’m the type to ever get jealous.

“Umm… Who was the lady at your office earlier?” I asked, breaking the silence. I sounded formal, my voice was slightly strained, trying my possible best so its volume would be okay and avoiding the interference of my emotions.

“You mean Sandra,” he asked.

“She’s my cousin, the daughter of Alpha Calisto from eastern wood pack,”

“That’s nice” I replied, a little bit happy that it was not some random woman or pack slut.

“Uhh… Maya, I’ve searched up your details on the human online platform. I see you’ve been a lone wolf for a long time,” he remarked, looking at me eagerly for a reply.

“That’s right, I’ve been alone for a while now”

“Who’re your parents and what pack do you originally come from?” He asked, my eyes were darting in opposite directions, unsure of what to say. My Mom particularly isn’t what I should lie about and my pack is a lot more safe to say.
