Samuel.
A male given name.

“You sleep quite a lot” I hear a voice say faintly. I shift unsteadily on my bed, rumpling the bed sheets. I take hold of a pillow to cover my head but it didn’t help. I threw the pillow and sat up immediately, surprised to see Aoife.

“Umm… good morning!”

She sat by my side before she smiled at me.

Taking in my surroundings. I was surprised to see that I was already in my room, I wanted to ask her how I got here and just immediately, everything that happened came like flash.

I remember her telling me that the channelling was complete. I told her I wanted to go home but she insisted that I go back home with her to meet her twin sister Quin. They looked very much alike, the difference being that Quin had blue eyes and was a water sidhe. I would say she was really smart too because she talked about all sorts of things that I’ve never learnt or heard about. I managed to grab a couple too.

I had to deal with Enid blabbing about all sorts of things like how she would love to switch my life for hers. She said she was tired of being an àes sidhe, she said she loves the idea of growing fangs and claws.

I told her I was fine being stuck inside but no, she didn’t agree to that, she wanted me to meet all of her friends and it happened that she was friends with almost everybody in the neighbourhood. She ranted about how I was a Lycan and she didn’t miss the part that I spoke to the moon goddess, all Aoife’s fault for telling her.

“Maya!” A voice and a knock from the door, interrupted the battling of thoughts I was having with myself.

I turned to see if I would see Aoife but it seemed she had just disappeared, don’t know how she does that, don’t really know if it’s a perk of being an àes sidhe or an air sidhe in particular.

“Maya!” The voice called the second time and I literally jumped off the bed.

“Ohh… Hey” I smile to the gentleman in front of me who I haven’t seen for a while now.

“I see you’re not ready for the day…” He examined before he turned his back about to leave.

“Sam!” I called and he turned to look at me almost immediately.

“Is there something you want to say to me?” I asked, unsure of why he disturbed so early in the morning, not that I knew what the actual time was though.

“Uhh… No… I meant, there is but not with… Not here” he stammered

He looked down at his toes, scared to look up.

“Hey!” I called before he was shaken from his sudden act of cowardice.

“You can tell me whatever you want to, I don’t think anyone is listening…”

“Well it’s about the other time when I told you that… I… umm… watched you” he answered and without listening in on any other thing he had to say, I dragged him inside my room, making sure that it was closed properly.

I sighed afterwards before I sat on my bed, motioning for him to sit as well.

“Now, what do you want to tell me?” I asked sternly, he ducked his head, avoiding my gaze.

“Sam!” I called before he looked up.

“Listen up, I have no idea why you’re scared of me and if it has anything to do with you watching me, I want to know” I said calmly, easing the tension he was feeling. I guess I overpowered him without knowing or …

“Sorry Maya. I’m terribly sorry I didn’t stay on my own and also, sorry I kept stalking you. The night I saw you tiptoe out of your room, I couldn’t entertain my curiosity from just going back to my room. I was down the hallway, a place you wouldn’t catch my scent when you left the room. I followed you but I kept a safe distance, not until you caught my scent and not until I saw that you were indeed Ralia… “

I watch him reveal my secret all still trying to think about what really happened that night. I wanted to say something but I waited for him to finish.

“Immediately, I went to report to the alpha and I ran as fast as I could, scared that you would catch me and just rip my neck off. When I told alpha Roux, I left the part with you in it, I only told him that I smelt something really strong, of a Lycan but stronger. I caught Axina, your friend who came a while after you did, listening in on our conversation. She demanded that I tell her who I was and what I really saw…”

“So… You lied about your name, that you’re Dominic, which is it, did you lie to me or to her?” I asked, my wolf was surfacing, I was becoming angrier as the minute went.

“Uhh… My… R… Eal name is Sam” he answered shakily.

“Just get out and if a soul hears of this, you’re dead. I’m trying to control my wolf, just leave before I do something stupid…”

Before I could complete what I was saying, he stood up and the next minute, I didn’t get to see him again. I sighed before I stood up from the bed, pacing round the room. I couldn’t keep it under control, I was angry and scared at the same time and still, my wolf didn’t help matters.

Warm hands held on to my shoulders, easing the tension I was feeling.

“It’s going to be fine” Aoefi soothed.

“Aoefi!” I called out shocked and before I could let out another word, she embraced me.

“How do you get to disappear and appear? Do you use some sort of witch powder?” I asked.

“No Ralia, the night I came for you, it was with the help of a witch. With the help of a witch, I can move to and fro without the aid of any transportation. I was here since, one of the perk of being an air sidhe is that I can blend in with air in a way that I appear invisible” She explained.

“Anyways, I have to go” she said releasing me from the hug.

“But you haven’t told me… “

“Nothing to worry about dear. You fell asleep in my house, after you told me to wake you up in the next five minutes. I did as you said before we left the border and ended back here in your room, immediately, you dosed off again” she said and after that she hugged me one last time before she left.

I collapsed myself on the bed, drifting deeper into a world that exists only in my head.
