Family secret.
Known only to our family, something that must be guarded“It’s okay my child” she said. “I’ve been in this world far too long to not know when you were born,”
I looked at Diana shocked. I knew there was something about Diana and I could sense it from the start.
“You smell of a wolf, I don’t know how it’s possible that you can live this long when you are not a lycan and also not a witch,”
I stated simply.Diana sighed for a while. She took me by my hands and then we ran really fast, the cool breeze flogging my hair against my back.
“Where are we going to?” I asked in between breaths but she didn’t give me any reply. We kept running for a while, the creaking sounds of the twigs kept me alert.
We came to a stop, white mist stopping us from moving further. Diana muttered words to herself that I don’t know about and then immediately, we found ourself in a different place.
It looked really beautiful. It looked like a very big enclosed house that was crystal clear. A big bright multi chained passage was before us that had a cross in the middle.
Diana brought forth her hands and with a spark, the place was opened.
It looked undeniably beautiful marked with carvings of wolves and the moon goddess. Swords, armours, with other different equipments used for fighting lined the wall in fixed position.
The room was very big, capable of holding more than 50 men.
Chandelier with bright lights hung from the top, the room was without chairs or windows.
“What is this place?” I asked baffled while my smile grew wider.
“It’s the secrecy of my family line that has been passed on from generations to generations,” she stated before taking a long sigh.
“My great grandfather was one of the first lycans that started dark moon. He was peculiar from the others because he didn’t marry a lycan but an omega of the lowest rank. It twisted the make up of there children’s genes which my dad was part of. The first five had limited lifespan just like an omega but with great strength while the other five which my dad was part of had the healing ability, making them to have an equal life span to that of the lycan and the fragility of an omega” she explained.
I didn’t know what to think about it, it felt so amazing and the rush of unexplainable emotions were just too much to take in.
“This place was were great warriors in dark moon were trained. There are other rooms aside this one that holds great medicine.”
“How did you know about me?” I asked her. My scent was of a wolf not a lycan.
“A friend told me,” she answered simply.
“Maria?” I asked
“Yes,” she replied.
“So, how do we leave from here” I asked.
“You’ll know when we are about to”
“You have another story that I don’t know about?”
“I believe Maria took care of that. The war is fast approaching and I don’t see any good skills you’ve got. I don’t really have much knowledge of your powers but from what I can see, you haven’t honed them”
“So, it’s going to be a training or something” I simply stated which Diana payed no attention to.
“How much on fighting do you know?” She asked.
“I didn’t take any fighting classes, I lived most of my life normally but my mom had taught me a lot as a child”
“Then show me. Fight me!” she requested with her hands crossed.
I made my move but before I could land a blow she blocked it immediately. I shifted back before I nudged forward attacking her with all I got but she kept dodging all the attacks I threw at her.
“Your stance is terrible, you lack balance, you pay no attention to your senses and you’re too soft for a lycan,” she criticized and the overwhelming feeling of failure took over my senses. I rubbed my shoulders slightly while she kept on talking.
“Sit down” she commanded and I did as she said immediately.
“Close your eyes and think about all the energies you can drag from your surroundings,”
I imagined my self in a big black cage suspended in the middle. My eyes was kept fixed on my legs. I removed the possibility of thinking about any other thing and immediately I saw and felt it. Waves of blue air escaping from the outer surroundings and entering my body bit bit. Suddenly the colour changed from blue to red and I opened my eyes immediately.
The sound of my heart thumping hard against my chest, water warm as my rising temperature leaking out of my face. Diana cleaned the sweat from my face looking at me with concern.
“What did you see?” She asked. I looked at her but couldn’t explain exactly what it was that I saw.
“I’m fine now, you don’t have to worry” I told her.
“We could go back now if you want, I guess we could continue another day,” she explained.
I nodded my head, moving out of the place with Diana in front.
“Don’t drag your legs, you have to hurry up” she commanded, her legs paying no attention to her words as she didn’t stop to wait for me.
I went after her anyways, moving as fast as I could.
“Diana…” I called, giving it sometime before I could ask her anything.
“What do you want to ask Maya,” she answered calmly.
“What is it actually like, living for a very long time?”
“You’ll get used to it Maya, you’re still so young for your kind” she replied and the slight frown I had on my face disappeared.
We had walked for awhile now, the other side becoming more visible.
“want to race back?” Diana asked but without waiting for a reply, she started running. I followed after her, trying to keep up. Nobody told me I was going to run this long. I felt my wolf surfacing, Diana still in front.
“Diana!!” I called…
