Truth.
The joy you find in nothing but the truth about your existence.I sat down on the kitchen counter relishing the nice flavour that my mouth entertained while Anna watched me in amusement.
I had come back to the pack house dressed only on a big blouse that Diana had given. Luckily for me, the party was still on and the first place that my stomach directed me to was the kitchen where Anna was in a heated argument with Jace. Jeremiah and Bryan looked on, they made no effort to stop them.
“You’re going to kill her with your stares” Jace said mocking Anna and just immediately, they picked on from where they had left after I came.
“It’s none of your business, she didn’t complain and you have no right to” She cornered
“Whatever, she’s just tired and is limited to opinions” Jace attacked
“You should tell that to your self… shitty head, better go back to the front door where you came from”
“It’s not my wish and you can’t force me to”
“Is the baby boy too scared, you would have listened to me when I told you not to be too fond of mommy”
“Not like you, I’m not scared and don’t call me that” He warned, playfulness still in his eyes.
I stood from the counter to the sink where I dropped my plate. I didn’t bother talking much before I left them in the kitchen but Anna came after me, dragging me back in.
“You have to judge Maya, who do you think has the upper hand?”
“Well I don’t know, you both wouldn’t remember any of this tomorrow, you’ve had a lot to drink” I explained. She sighed before she rested her body on the wall.
“Good night!” Jeremiah and Bryan chorused before they left.
“I think my head hurts” She said, looking wearily at me.
“I think you’ve had enough for the day” I went on to where she was, lending her my shoulders. She closed the gap between us. “Good night” I had said to Jace before we exited the kitchen.
I threw Anna down to her bed, removing her wedged shoe before I sat by her side, trailing my tan fingers down her scalp. “Today was awesome” she said sleepily to herself, turning to the other side of the bed.
“Good night Anna” I whispered in her ears before I made my way to the door. I halted my foot steps when my eyes landed on the person before me, he had this stoic expression on while I had the urge to punch him hard on his face.
“Ohh… H-ey” I said awkwardly, he let out a slight smile that made his cheeks glow pink.
“I came to check on her” He thought out carefully. His fingers played with his hair and I was tempted to do just as he did.
“She’s asleep” The words flew from my mouth even if I had fought with my subconscious that I wasn’t going to say anything for the moment that he was here.
“How did your discussion with her go?” I knew immediately who he was talking about. I did some thinking for a while before I went with the usual. “It was fine”
I wanted to ask him if he was the one who placed the petals of flower below my bed but I thought against it. It would be plain stupid to ask, what if he wasn’t the one.
He sighed, looking at me with what I wasn’t sure of.
“Did you see the Flowers I placed below your bed?” He asked, his fingers made its way down to his scalp again which I would say was his coping mechanism for when he felt nervous.
