Known secret.
One more person knows.

I woke up to the banging sound that came from the door. “Come in” I said, scratching my eyes and flexing my tired muscles.

The side next to me was still warm and the lingering intoxicating scent of strawberry, cool breeze and vanilla still fresh.

Anna walked in, heading towards my direction while I try to get up from the bed.

“Good morning” I greeted tired. She smiled at me, pushing me back on the bed, she sits by my side, staring at me awkwardly.

“Spill it Anna” I told her
“What’s the secret” she answered me yet with another question. She turns to look at me again then falls flat on the bed holding her stomach while she began to laugh hysterically. It started as a small giggle then the next minute, she let it all out.

“Umm…Anna” I try to call
“You” laugh “look” laugh “weird” she said trying to sit up right, averting her gaze from mine.

“And miss, you’re acting mad” I told her.

“I’m not mad” she said, she placed her hands on my shoulders, turning me to the position of the mirror. I couldn’t stop myself from laughing. The sight that met me was really terrible. The strands on my hair were in different dimensions all together and my eyes still felt sleepy. I smile at the mirror awkwardly which starts another bounds of laughter for Anna.

“I don’t look that bad. Do I?” I asked Anna but she waved her hands at me, covering her mouth with one of her hands.

I stroke my hair with my tan fingers, detangling it before I tie it up in a bun.

“Better now” Anna commented with a thumbs up and an appreciative smile. She looked more cool headed and relaxed than the last few minutes.

“So what’s the deal?” I asked Anna who was smiling at nothing in particular.

“Well, today is just so good. First I came here to meet Roux but fortunately for me, I met you instead and I’m so happy that you guys have finally done it” she said still smiling at herself.

“Done what?” I asked snapping my fingers at her to gain her attention.

“You know…what…um…mates do” she blurted, playing with her fingers, smiling mischievously at me.

“And what do mates do Anna, for your information, we…umm…I…he…we haven’t done anything” I spelled out for her.

“Really?” Anna questioned, looking at me awkwardly.
“Miss you give me the creeps” I said turning away from her wild gaze.
“And you my friend is such a bummer” she concluded
“Whatever” I told her.

“Where’s Roux?” She asked
“I don’t know, I haven’t seen him since this morning” I told her
“Is there a problem?” I asked, expecting her to say something.
“No”she said immediately
“I just wanted something from him” she answered.

I looked at for a while, a slight frown visible on her face.

“Are you okay?” I asked
“I’m definitely not okay!” She screamed, stamping her feet on the ground before she turned to look at me.

“It’s my damn birthday today and he hasn’t come to meet me, he has totally forgotten about his own sister” she blurted.

Well, that was one thing Anna kept a secret from me. I never knew it was her birthday and it’s so unlike her not to announce it before the actual day.

‘’why didn’t you tell me all this while Anna?” I asked while Anna raised one of her eyebrows at me.

“Um… because… because…it kinda skipped my mind, it’s so unlike me Maya” she explained, holding me tight on my shoulders.
