Her again.
Why is she always bugging me with her presence when she’s not ready to tell me anything.I watched as Roux took the paper from his Beta to read for himself. He scrunched his nose, a little bit unsteady.
He came to the direction where I stood, scared of what might happen. My gaze was down, looking at nothing but my feet which wouldn’t stop fighting with each other.
“Maya” his thick husky voice came out, I looked up at him, trying to keep my feet stable but yet again, I looked down. The breeze blew really hard, tingling in my ear.
My thoughts wouldn’t hold firm, “the no ordinary Rogue” I thought, afraid that I’ve heard that name before but something about it doesn’t feel right. I don’t know why I can’t remember, I’m afraid that I’ll get a nightmare, afraid that my unending migraine is yet to overcome me, I was scared, really scared that I didn’t know when I began to hyperventilate.
My whole body shaked, I clenched my two hands together, trying to stop my self from doing something stupid.
I wasn’t thinking straight, I wasn’t myself.
I started seeing things, my vision clouded with hurtful events of the past.
I felt a warm tingling touch on my shoulders which sent down a sense of comfort, I don’t know how but it eased the tension I was feeling at the moment.
“Maya” the wind carrying the whisper of a soft but yet firm voice, tinkling my ears.
I looked up at him, the pull too strong for me to resist. I hugged him, hugged him really tight.
His chest was as hard as the sedimentary rock but also comforting like a very soft bed. I welcomed the heat, the sparks and the comfort it gave me.
He tapped my head slowly, “it’s going to be alright… I know the mystery and the thought that Ralia Dimian is dead but I assure you, I’ll look into the matter closely”
“Alpha!” His Beta called, fear clearly written in the tone of his voice.
“You don’t have to be scared Liam, I’ll handle this matter carefully… it doesn’t only concern me but the well being of the pack and the whole werewolf community as well”
Liam nodded his head like a lizard but I could still see the fear written all over his face.
I released Roux from the hug, a little bit ashamed of my self.
“Thank you” was the only word that left my mouth as I stood still, staring at him.
He placed his two hands on my shoulders, his strict stare on me.
“You should go back to the pack house” were the words that left his mouth, moving away from where I was.“And what if I don’t want to!” I said stubbornly
“Just go to the pack Maya, it’s too dangerous!!” He yelled, turning one more time to look at me.
“Fine!” I yelled back before I stormed off, too sad to even cry and too angry to think about anything. He doesn’t always tell me anything and doesn’t understand that this matter clearly involves me. I’m the one they’re looking for, for crying out loud.
I wouldn’t blame him though and I wouldn’t blame them. They all don’t know the truth, the truth that could destroy the werewolf history, the truth I can’t even seem to understand myself.
I’m scared, I’m putting everyone at risk but what do I do, where do I run to… for crying out loud, I’m Tired of running.
The wind blew really hard, the tall trees danced in different directions. It was almost getting dark, the earth shaken from the thunderous cry but the lightning had already given its warning.
The birds in groups flew in different directions. I started running, I didn’t want to get soaked if it’s possible that the rain would fall.
My thick long hair swinged left and right behind me as I ran but I didn’t drag myself, I didn’t force my self. I ran at my on pace.
“Be careful Ralia, there are so many things you don’t know. In the end it hurts” a siren like voice said but from where.
My body was itching to move but I stopped running, staying still to see if I could hear the voice again.
“Gray eyes, show yourself” I commanded.
She appeared right in front of me like she has been hiding in the empty spaces.
She smiled cheerfully at me, dressed in long white glittering spaghetti hand gown. It wasn’t tight but it clamped her body like she had poured water on it. Her blonde hair was held straight and shiny, down to her waist. She smiled again but this time, showing her sparkling white spotless teeth. It was weird that she had no foot wear on but her anklet added beauty to her small feet.
“What do you want now?” I asked irritated but it didn’t show on my face, I forced a smile making it sound weird.
She smiled genuinely without saying a word as though she could read my mind. She walked slowly to where I was, her hands caressing my face. Her touch was soft and caring, she moved slowly to my back, releasing my hair from the strong hold of the rubber band.
It fell flat on my face, I used my hands to tuck the parts that covered my eyes behind my ear and before I could say a word or move, she was right in front of me.
“You’re so pretty Ralia, I could still remember when I would try to hold you but you cry out so loud, finding comfort only in the hands of your mother” she said, a glint of happiness and sorrow in her eyes.
“You… knew my mo-ther” I croaked, tucking the other part of my hair behind my ear.
“Did I say that” she laughed like someone who has suddenly gone mental
“Are you alright” I asked by instinct but she looked at me and started laughing again.
“What’s your name?” I tried to ask but she didn’t answer. She looked serious all of a sudden. She pecked my forehead before she turned her back at me, walking slowly, her hair dangling at her back.
“I’ll see you again Ralia…” she finally said. I tried calling her back but she had finally disappeared in the shadows.
“I still had a lot to ask you!!” I shouted like she hadn’t disappeared but still hiding in the shadow. Surprisingly, my voice echoed back at me.
I felt really sad, how did she know my mother? And how is it that she had once carried me?
I continued my journey, running as the drops of my own tears hit the floor, I wish running would solve the problem but it only seem to complicate the matter.
Talking about my mother brought back both happy and painful memories.
I wonder what Roux would be doing by now. What areas of the matter is he still inspecting.
I could finally see the building of the pack house, stretching from afar. Someone was running towards me with full speed. I tried to strain my eyes but the tears clouded my visions. I used my Hands to clean my eyes and happy as I saw the figure running closer to where I was.
I quickened my pace, not minding if I would fall and heat my head hard on the floor.
“Axina!!” My voice stretched
“Maya!!” Axina called back.
Finally we were together, I hugged her, forgetting all that I was feeling earlier…
