Maki and Jiro enjoyed the time they had to relish in their victory after class, they also decided to exchange numbers. For Maki though, this small victory was a stepping stone in her goal of getting to the top and becoming the head of her clan, even if it meant she had to hurt other people's feelings. She'd done that already. That particular incident was something that she would address at a later date once she'd gotten stronger. However if she wanted to achieve that, she needed to do well and prove herself to everyone.
When she arrived at UA the next day she found just getting through the gates a challenge, this was because a squadron of news reporters were blocking the entrance and trying to interview the students that tried to enter.
'The news that All Might's a teacher here must have been made public' she thought as she simply huffed and shoved through the reporters, she did not want to be late for class. Luckily for everyone in the school, the reporters ended up stuck outside when the UA barrier activated. Homeroom started with Aizawa reviewing yesterday's mock battles and he scolded Bakugo for sulking and Midoriya breaking his bones again.
"Alright, let's get down to business" he said after finishing his lecture "our first task will decide your future."
"Is it another quirk test?" Everyone thought in anticipation and dread
He hung on a dramatic pause before continuing "You all need to pick a class representative"
'Oh, just normal school stuff" everyone thought in relief. Everyone including Maki then started shouting that they wanted to be class rep, all individual comments becoming lost in one big sea of noise, eventually Ida's voice loudly yelled which silenced everyone.
"The class representative's duty is to lead others" he said "that's not something just anyone can do. You must first have the trust of every student in the classroom, therefore, the most logical way to fill this position is democratically. We will hold an election to choose our leader."
'It's pretty obvious you want us to vote for you" everyone thought as they observed Ida's eagerly raised hand. Maki wasn't gonna vote for him even though he seemed a like a fairly good choice for class rep, he was clearly upper class and and kids raised in that kind of or environment always expected everyone to give them what they wanted, even if they themselves didn't realise it.
She started thinking about who she was going to vote for. Even though they'd been a good team, she wasn't going to vote for Jiro. During their battle, Maki did most of strategising and she could tell by the way she followed her plan, her new friend wasn't a leader. She could also tell most of her classmates were very inexperienced in hero work and weren't the best candidates for a leadership role. Once coming to her final conclusion, Maki wrote down a name on her paper slip and held it up to be collected.
Once all the votes were collected and counted the results weren't what she was expecting. Midoriya won with four votes, herself and Yaoyorozu came joint second, the others only received one or no votes, most clearly having voted for themselves.
'What kind of idiots would vote for him? He may be passionate but he's not assertive and doesn't have a lot of self confidence' Maki thought, she knew he wouldn't last long in this position. The other matter that caught her and everyone else's attention was that there were two people who were candidates for deputy class rep. Ida, after recovering from receiving no votes, decided that they would hold another election to determine whether herself or Yaoyorozu would get the position.
"May the best girl win" Maki said to her rival candidate
"Indeed" Yaoyorozu responded in kind
The air was tense with anticipation, both the candidates weren't allowed to vote so the decision rested with their classmates. It was going to be a tough decision, both girls were natural leaders as demonstrated when they both took charge in their match against each other. They were also very different in many aspects as well: Yaoyorozu had a adaptable quirk and Maki had naturally strong physical abilities, Maki was aggressive and independent and Yaoyorozu kind and prudent etc. etc. Their strengths were very different but valuable in their own right. It was going to be a tough decision.
The votes were collected and counted.
Maki won with 10 votes to Yaoyorozu's 8 votes. A narrow victory.
"Okay then" Aizawa said, waking up from the nap he was enjoying during the election "Midoirya is the class representative and Zenin is the deputy"
"Don't call me by my last name!" Maki snapped at her teacher as Midoriya trembled nervously.

It was now lunch and everyone was in the cafeteria ordering food from Lunch Rush. Maki ordered a bowl of ramen and moved to sit with Jiro and some of the girls of class 1A.
"Hey Maki, good job on getting deputy class rep" Ashido said cheerfully,
"Yeah, I hope you do a good job" Yaoyorozu said despite her loss to the girl sitting near her.
"Honestly, I'm surprised we got joint second especially since I voted for you in the first round" Maki confessed truthfully
"REALLY?!" Yaoyorozu asked in shock "why?"
"Because I knew you were a good leader from our match and that you should be taken seriously, any opponent who doesn't is a fool. That's way I also went all out back then" Maki explained, at this Yaoyorozu's eyes lit up with pride.
"Thank Maki, and please call me Momo"
"Very well then"
"By the way, Maki" Ashido asked "I never got ask what your quirk was. I'm sure it's something awesome from the way you fought yesterday!"
"I don't have a quirk answered, that's just my raw physical abilities" she answered bluntly, taking another bite of her ramen as her female classmates were left in stunned silence. However they couldn't give a response
"WARNING! LEVEL 3 SECURITY HAS BEEN BREACHED! ALL STUDENTS EVACUATE OUTSIDE IMMEDIATELY!" An artificial voice blared along side an alarm.
"What's a level 3 security breach?" Maki wondered
"I don't know but it looks bad so we need get out of here!" Ashido said in a panicked voice before standing and getting ready to run out of the Lunch hall only to have her wrist in Maki's vice like grip.
"Hold on" she said "before you start panicking, you probably think about who caused the breach. My best guess is that it's those annoyingly persistent reporters that were outside earlier so there's no reason to panic. Besides, everyone's packed like a tin of sardines in the hall, we won't get anywhere in that so I say we wait here for them to calm down and then we'll head outside". At this her classmates calmed down and got back in their seats. After a minute, Ashido returned to the topic their earlier conversation.
"You don't have a quirk?!" At this, the others perked back up.
"Yeah, I was shocked when I first found out" Jiro said
"Then, how did break through walls the building so easily during our match?" Momo inquired
"I use quirk tools" Maki explained "weapons that are already imbued with a quirk because I don't have a quirk to utilise"
'Oh, like that pole arm she used in our match' Momo thought
"These glasses I wear are also a quirk tool" Maki added, taking said glasses off "they're imbued with a quirk that greatly enhances my vision, I don't where them I'm short sighted in any way"
"Oooh! Can I try them on?" Ashido excitedly squeaked
"Sure, go ahead. I don't like them anyway" Maki said nonchalantly before handing them to her pink skinned classmate who then started trying them on and passing them to the others.

Eventually, Ida managed to both calm down the panicking students and make himself look stupid by looking like an emergency exit sign. Once the chaos died down they arrived back at homeroom to discuss other class management posts.
"Get on with it class rep!" Maki snapped at her much more timid classmate causing him to squeak in terror
"O-okay! R-right, we need to decide other class offices but before that there's something I want to say..." there was a pause before he added "...I think Ida should be class rep." Ida became stunned at this sudden nomination
"He was able to act decisively at the lunch hall and got everyone's attention in a cool way, I ended up getting swept away in the chair. Therefore, I think Ida's more suited to lead our class." Midoriya said. People then started commenting that Midoriya had a point and that Ida looked like the emergency exit sign during his little stunt in the crowded hallway.
"This is a waste of time" Aizawa said, still in his sleeping bag, causing Midoriya to flinch "I don't care who the rep is just hurry up"
"If the class rep had nominated me" Ida said, standing up from his desk "then I humbly accept. I pledge to carry out the duties of class rep to the best of my abilities!" Ida got some cheers of support and looks of approval from his peers.
"I don't have any complaints but if you bother me enough I'll make you go against me in a sumo wrestling match" Maki boldly stated, earning looks of shock from her peers.
"Wait, you know how to sumo wrestle?" One of them asked
"Yeah and I'm pretty good at it, so you guys had better watch out"
