The Difference Between Strength & Power ( MHA x Maki Zenin Reader)

Merry Christmas!!

"One, two, three....  MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!"  Everyone yelled in unison, raising their cups of either lemonade or coke in the air. 
The common room had undergone quite the festive transformation.  The walls were littered with stars, gingerbread men, stockings, candy canes and ribbons whilst a long line of blue tinsel adorned with bells hung above the windows.  The sweet smell of pine from the tree ghosted through the mouthwatering smell of cooked food in the room.  The gold shimmer of the tinsel glittered in the artificial light whilst a series of Christmas and Hero themed baubles were nested among the branches.  A wide assortment of food ranging from chicken fondue cheese to pizza and even fortune cookies.  Sato had just brought a very appetising looking cake and headed back to the kitchen to check on the turkey.
The occupants of the room had also come dressed for the occasion.  They were all wearing either a red Santa outfit or a green elf outfit, each with a customised bobble on their respective hats (except Bakugo who Ashido was trying to covertly dress up.)  Maki herself was dressed in a Santa outfit with a Shuriken-shaped bobble.  Ida had gone one step further by adding a long white beard to his Santa outfit.  Uraraka was staring at the food, eyes comically wide as she drooled in anticipation.  Maki, Ashido and Jiro were gathered around the cake that Sato had delivered moments ago.  Sero and Kirishima were already tucking into the chicken wings whilst Aoyama sipped his drink from a wine glass.  Momo was sharing around tea and everyone took a turn at dipping their sweet treats under the chocolate fountain.

Eventually, despite the festive mood, conversations turned to the Hero Work Studies.  The teachers had told them that it was starting up again at the request of the Safety Commission.  It was officially to give all the Hero Course students more in field experience but Maki knew that she needed to read between the lines.  Gojo had informed her (and her friends outside of UA that had also been trained by him) that the Saftey Commission was actually mobilising the students in preparation for all out war against the League of Villains.  They had apparently gotten this information from an inside source and they were also certain that Heroes were secretly joining them.  That was the reason they were being so cryptic about it - along with avoiding backlash from the public.  She chose to keep this bit of information to herself, she hadn't forgotten that there was traitor within UA and she didn't want to ruin the mood of party.
Uraraka and Tsuyu confirmed that they would be returning to Ryukyu's agency.  Similarly, Maki and Tokoyami would be returning to Hawk's agency, despite what happened last time.  Some of their classmates were having less luck than them.  Midoriya wasn't able to return to the Nighteye agency because the late Sir Nighteye's sidekicks, who had taken over the agency after his death, were too busy.  He was also unable to go to Gran Torino who he had done his internship with.  He was still positive though because this round of Work Studies was mandatory so the school would find him somewhere.  Bakugo was also in a similar situation due to Best Jeanist, whom he had done his internship under, had disappeared under suspicious circumstances.  He also wasn't interested in weaker Hero agencies.
"You touch me and you die!" He yelled at Ashido as she made another attempt to dress him up in his Santa outfit.
"Come on, give in to peer pressure!  It's Christmas!" The pink girl retorted.  "Where's your festive spirit?"
"Hard time to do Work Studies..." Todoroki commented.

They were interrupted by Mineta loudly slamming his palms against the table.  "This is supposed to be a party, you guys!  So how about less with the school stuff and more with the holy jolly!"
"Dude what are you, the Yule police?" Kaminari commented.
At that moment, Sato arrived with the long awaited turkey, steaming in the plate.  "Come on you guys!  It might sound weird but Mineta has a point.  It's time for us to dig in!"
Sugarman could cook food besides sweet stuff?  Guess one learns new things every day. They were interrupted by the sound of the door opening a crack.
"Sorry we're late." A voice said from outside. Aizawa poked his head around the door before shuffling inside. "Have you started the party already?"
Everyone smiled at the sight of who had come in tow with their teacher. Eri was dressed up in a Santa outfit.
'Oh my God! Why?! Why is she so cute?!' Maki yelled in her head, desperately trying to hide her smile. It was useless. Especially after Eri mixed up Christmas with Halloween, Setsubun and Easter. Well, she had spent the majority of her life up till now in isolation, it made sense that she wasn't familiar with regular concepts of day-to-day things.
Guess it was their job to get her up to speed. Tokoyami was helping out after all.
