The Difference Between Strength & Power ( MHA x Maki Zenin Reader)

Let the battle of the headbands commence!

As expected, everyone made a b-line for their team.  They couldn't really run anywhere because opponents were coming in from all directions so the only way was up.  Maki told Uraraka to make them float so they could escape just as the ground suddenly became as soft as thick oozy mud and they began sinking.
"Tokoyami!" She yelled, catching his attention "push off the ground on the count of three!"  He nodded in acknowledgment and readied dark shadow as Maki readied Playful Cloud.
"One", the enemies were getting closer, "two", they put all their strength into their swings "three!", they slammed down on the soft ground.  Maki's three sectioned staff created a rather big crater and dark shadow launched them into the air, away from the other teams.
"WOAH!!!  MAKI ZENIN HAS DESTROYED A LARGE PART OF THE STAGE IN ONE SWING, HOW MUCH STRENGTH DOES SHE HAVE??!!"  Mic screamed in shock and excitement,
"She's making good use of her of quirk tools in her team" Aizawa explained "those weapons are already imbued with quirks so it gives both her and her team and extra advantage"
Their team continued to float above the other teams, defending against an attack from bellow from Jiro before dark shadow steadied their landing.  They didn't have time to catch their breath though because they were them assaulted by Asui's tongue and Mineta's sticky balls; Shoji's arms that were shaped like a tent shielded them from any counter attacks.  They decided to take to the air again but one of Mineta's sticky balls had made Uraraka's shoe stick to the floor.
"Take it off!" Maki yelled, Uraraka quickly obeyed and they made for the sky again, this time pursued by Bakugo.  Dark shadow was able to block the boy's explosion but Maki could see it took a toll on the shadowy bird spectre, probably because the explosions generated light.

Bakugo was pulled back to his horse by Sero's tape so he didn't touch the ground.  They wouldn't be able to take to the air anymore because the other teams would expect it.  They continued dodging and weaving as Mic announced the Cavalry battle was now halfway through.  Shoji opened his arms to expose his two riders, they were preparing for a full on attack.  However, they noticed at the last minute to notice Todoroki's team prepping for an attack of their own with Kaminari's quirk, luckily Dark shadow and Maki where able to tank the hit with their natural toughness while the other teams were stunned and their feet frozen to the ice.
"WELL WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT!" Mic commented, excited at the latest development in the game "HE'S STOPPED ALL THOSE TEAMS COLD IN THEIR TRACKS!"
"But only after Kaminari had immobilised the students using his electricity" Aizawa, the more analytical commentator pointed out "in the obstacle course he was surprised by how many people evaded his attack, he's adapting his strategy"
"NICE COMMENTARY!" Mic complemented
Maki's team was now in a rather precarious position, they wouldn't be able to take off in time and their opponents were likely prepared for that, Tokoyami tried to restrain them but was blocked by Momo.  They had now been pushed into a corner.
"Use the ratio quirk tool to break through Momo's defences!" Maki yelled
"Right!" Dark Shadow responded, grabbing the cleaver and swinging it towards Momo's shield, slicing clean through it before following with a strong punch which pushed the rival team back a bit.  It looked like they still had a trick up their sleeve though, Ida's engines had started to heat up with hotter flames and he sped forward faster than Midoriya's team could see in order to snatch the ten million point headband.

However, Maki could see him coming due to her acute senses and swung her weapon the same time Ida sped off and successfully knocked them off course by first hitting the ground, causing debris to fly towards the other team's faces and then kicking Ida in the stomach, causing him to stumble slightly and Todoroki to miss the ten million point headband.
"Damn it, I missed!" Todoroki muttered in frustration when he realised what had happened.
"That was amazing Maki!" Midoriya said when he realised she'd saved their points
"Don't sweat it" she deadpanned
"WOAH!" Mic exclaimed absolutely flabbergasted "AFTER AN IMPRESSIVE SAVE FROM MAKI ZENIN, TEAM MIDORIYA HAVE HELD ONTO FIRST PLACE!"
"How did you do that?" Tokoyami asked, equally flabbergasted "I couldn't see a thing!"
"Because I'm not like most quirkless people, that's all I'm gonna say" Maki answered "we can't relax though, they're gonna try again, there's only few minutes left and their gonna get more desperate so get ready!"
Sure enough, they came back but this time they managed to get the headband because they went Uraraka's side and Maki couldn't reach them. 

The ten second countdown started immediately afterwards and it was absolute pandemonium as both Midoriya's and now Bakugo's teams made a final dash for the ten million points.  Neither of them managed to retrieve it before time ran out.  Luckily, Dark Shadow had managed to snatch a 615 point headband from Todoroki at the last second and their team made it in fourth place.  Midoriya cried like a fountain in relief.
