Toji Fushiguro was a risk taker. Whether it being dangerous bounty jobs or betting, it didn't concern him as long as he got money out of it. He wasn't the type to sweat at the small stuff. Currently he was nonchalantly sat with his feet up at a speedboat race.
"I was wondering where you ran off to. What are you doing here?" The brown suited man asked as he walked down the steps to sit nearby.
"Making easy money." Toji replied, waving a betting ticket in the air.
"But I've never seen you win." The man commented as the speedboats began the race around the circuit.
"Oh, give it a rest. You talking to me like I'm unemployed." Toji groaned as the man sat down a few seat across from him.
"That's because you are." He stated, Toji looked away, a pout visible on his face. "As an agent, I have an obligation to report your work performance to the client."
"The target is the number two hero since All Might's retirement. If I went in there without a plan I would have a much harder time. Like I did against the Gojo guy ten years ago, I'll need to use some idiots to wear him down." Toji said whilst watching the race intently. He lost. He crushed the ticket in frustration before tossing it aside.
"Seems your not good at making easy money." The brown suited man commented before getting up and making his way to leave. "I'll leave you to it, Hero Killer." Toji was known in the underworld as the Hero Killer before Stain emerged and caused a stir, causing him to become the better known Hero Killer. Toji really wasn't concerned by that at all.
"Oh, by the way..." the brown suited man stopped, remembering something, "...how's Megumi doing?"
A thoughtful expression appeared on Toji's face before he looked up at the man,
"Who's Megumi?"——————————————
Hawks finished the final bit of paperwork about the attack with a silent groan, his two mentees were sat on the sofa in the office relaxing. They had been successful in defeating the two members of Q that had attacked them. In fact, the one that Maki and Tokoyami defeated was its strongest member, once the organisation had received the news that they'd lost their trump card, they disbanded within a few days. It was honestly a relief that the bigger of the two threats had been neutralised already. Tokoyami was the first to voice his opinions about the next move.
"Well," he said "now that the biggest threat has been taken out the picture, I guess we can relax a bit more."
"We can't relax completely yet." Hawks countered, drawing the raven-headed boy's attention. Noticing the puzzled look on his face, he went on to explain further. "We still have the Star Religious Group to worry about. In fact, they're likely to become more bold now that their main competition is out of the game."
"But..." The green haired girl turned her head towards her classmate, "...didn't you say that the group was comprised of people who couldn't challenge pro heroes?"
"Yes he did." Maki answered, "But remember that Hawks said they'd turn to indirect methods like hiring professional assassins. They're gonna need to keep us on our toes so they'll probably send multiple mercenaries after us."
"Yes and it looks like you're right." The two students heads whipped round towards Hawks. The young hero was staring at his laptop with a sour look on his face.
"They've posted my picture on the dark web with a thirty million dollar bounty, there's also a two day time limit so the competition's gonna be intense." He said, turning the laptop around on his desk so it was facing to two students so they could get a good look at the new situation.——————————————
The diner shop of the community is usually a cheerful place to be in. The presentable front façade welcomed the sun, illuminating the whole space and bringing it to life. The sun's rays made the metal tables shine like a sliver. The tinny, static voices on the TV in the diner acted as a treat for the ears and a perfect start to a day. The people were captivated by whatever the screen was presenting and all eyes were glued to it. The smell of freshly made food attracted everyone passing by. The enthusiastic greeting from the staff uplifted everyone's mood as soon as they walked in. Among the people sat there was Toji, a phone wedged between his ear and his shoulder as he prepared to tuck into some dumplings.
"What are you talking about? They didn't ask the Safety Commission for reinforcements?" He asked calmly into the phone, "Now everyone that's drawn to the bounty will be reasonable fodder."
"Are you sure they won't kill Hawks?" The man on the other end asked, concerned. Toji brushed them off.
"Don't worry, Hawks isn't the number two hero for nothing." He said picking up one of the dumplings with his chopsticks and inspecting it, "As long as he's on high alert, almost no-one can kill him."
"Not even you?" The man's question made Toji pause for a moment, shoving the dumpling into his mouth and chewing on it thoughtfully. Eventually, a small smile appeared on his face as he stared at the boat race happening on the TV.
"Well, who really knows...?" he replied ambiguously, "Anyway, I'll leave the bounty up for another forty seven hours or so. I'll let those fools wear down both Hawks and the work study students that are with him." He got up from the table and made his way to the drinks machine, not giving a fig when he bumped into another customer, causing his bowl of ramen to come crashing to the floor.
"I'll be there soon, things are progressing faster than I expected. Make sure that thirty million yen comes in full." He said walking back to his table.
"Hey, you can't just demand that on the spot. I'm just the middle man between you and your client and there's a complicated process. There are posting fees, handling fees-"
"Sorry, the signal's breaking up!" Toji interrupted before the man on the other end could finish his sentence, abruptly hanging up the phone much to the other man's annoyance.
