Who Still Uses Carbon Paper These Days?!

When the frenzy of the previous day blends into the next morning, one can either accept that yesterday's excitement is over and move on with the present, or hype yourself up like there's no tomorrow in a vain attempt to keep the electric nerves running.  This time around, Maki opted for the latter.
That is... before she was interrupted by the arrival of her temporary boss, Clear Blade.
"Morning, Maki," Clear Blade called from the door of the training room Maki had been practicing in.  "Car crash at Akasaka.  I need you there as soon as possible."
"Anything special about this particular car crash?" Asked Maki, who'd just finished packing up her weapons and was now heading for the water fountain to fill up her bottle.  Heavy beads of sweat were dripping down her fair skin.
"Some... celebrity is involved," Clear Blade replied.  This earned him a groan of disapproval from the green-haired girl.
"Clear Blade, we've been through this.  Pros can't just be doing work that will give stories for cheap gossip magazines," Maki griped.
"What if it's not an accident?  Or what if someone died?" Clear Blade asked.  "I can't help if the victim is a celebrity, so get on it."
"Okay, okay," Groaned Maki, taking large gulp from her now full water bottle, before lazily swinging her weapons bag over her shoulder.
"Hurry up before the other Pros and witnesses disperse," Clear Blade called after her as she made her way down the hallway.  Maki clung on to the hope that this wouldn't take too long,  she had to relay the information both she and Tokoyami had discovered the previous night as soon as possible to lieutenant Kishi before it was too late.  He needed to know that Dr Saito & Dr Aoki had tested their MQD vaccine illegally on people and had resulted in deaths.
Maki let out a loud groan, not caring how many people were giving her questioning looks.
There really was no fathoming the depth of her hatred for rescue missions.

By some miracle, it seemed Maki's prayers had been answered. When she arrived, the street was devoid of any Pro Heroes or police officers, as well as the unfortunate driver of the mangled vehicle that was partially wedged in the front gate of one of the buildings, which was sectioned off with police tape.
"Isn't this Masumi Yamagata's house?" Asked a grinning Maki, marvelling at what had happened to the famous author's house. "He'll be thrilled to find out what's happened to his fence once he's back from Paris. The police must have already left, along with the driver. Making this the perfect opportunity to investigate, I guess."
This was proving to be more fun than Maki had originally thought. Not only had she avoided doing any rescue work, she also got to rummage around the crash site. Ducking under the police tape, Maki's hazel eyes scanned the car and the pavement. The car was a very ugly shade of red, its bonnet was partially crushed from the impact and one of the wheels had become dislodged. Unable to resist the temptation peeking inside brought on the open drivers side door, Maki poked her head through the door frame, spotting a blue-covered book lying on the passenger seat. Out of curiosity, she reached an arm across the seats and picked it up, before clambering out of the vehicle. An amused grin spread across her face once she read the gold lettering on the front cover.

"Haha! What a coincidence," Maki mused. Suddenly alerted by the sound of heavy footsteps, Maki turned around, coming face-to-face with Constable Ito.
"Miss Zenin, I can't let you keep that. It's evidence," said the Constable.
"How many times I told you not to use my last name, Ito?" Maki said, returning the greeting gruffly. "I found this book in the car."
"Hand it over, please," Ito asked.
"Of course."
Once the book was out of her hands, Maki asked what happened. It would necessary if she wanted to fill out all that paperwork in time.
"We're not certain yet, but chances are the car brakes failed," Ito replied before excusing himself and heading off in the opposite direction as Maki made her way back to the car.
