The Difference Between Strength & Power ( MHA x Maki Zenin Reader)

All out slugfest, here we come!

This was gonna be intense.  Bakugo won his match against Tokoyami so that meant Maki was fighting him in the final.  She was currently waiting in her waiting room and cleaning a checking her quirk tools were in good shape, the loud bang of the door opening caught her attention and she looked up to see Bakugo who looked confused to see her.
"Hey what the hell are you doing in here?  This is my space to- argh crap, this is waiting room number 2?!" Bakugo exclaimed, realising he was in the wrong place.
"Then why don't you head over there and leave me to clean my weapons" Maki jabbed, this clearly ticked the ash blonde off.
"Alright fine, so I may have walked into the wrong room but don't think that means I won't be on the top of my game, you got that?!" He exclaimed angrily before slamming an explosive fist onto the table, Maki was able to save the quirk tool she was checking over from the small blast.
"YOU BETTER BRING ALL YOU'VE GOT TO THIS, QUIRKLESS BITCH!"
"Oh, I plan to now get out!" She yelled before kicking him out the door and slamming it shut, ignoring the rest of Bakugo's annoyed remarks.

"IT'S THE FINAL MATCH OF THE SPORTS FESTIVAL, IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS!!!  FROM THE HERO COURSE, MAKI ZENIN!!!  VERSUS HER CLASSMATE, KATSUKI BAKUGO!!!"
"NOW, BEGIN!!!"
Maki kicked off first and went to attack with the Inverted Spear of Heaven in order to end the fight quickly but Bakugo kept her at bay with a barrage of explosions which she had to bob and weave through using her speed and agility.
"You trying to gain distance from me?  That's not gonna work" he yelled as he closed in and attempted to throw her out of bounds.  Maki called on the hand sword to slice Bakugo's arms while he was occupied with her.  The sudden pain of the slashes caused him to drop her and she wasted no time in delivering a chain of hand to hand punches and kicks while that hand sword slashed at Bakugo's exposed flanks, keeping him in one place.
"MAKI'S GOT BAKUGO IN A BAD POSITION!!!" Mic exclaimed
"That's because Maki is the better hand to hand combatant and unlike Uraraka, she's definitely tough enough to tank his explosions" Aizawa analysed as the exchange went on.  Eventually after being pummelled with strong physical strike and slashed at on his palms and joints, Bakugo had enough, caught the hand sword and prepared to blast and explosion at Maki.
'Shit, he memorised the attack pattern' she thought as she prepared to tank the hit.  Bakugo let off a powerful explosion point blank in Maki's face, she tanked it and wrenched the hand sword out of her opponent's grip and jumped back to gain a bit of distance.  Bakugo was shocked by her strength, it felt like she was going to rip his arm out of his socket.

The cuts on his palms made it more painful to set off explosions so he wasn't going to be able to do a drawn out exchange.  His anger started to boil, he'd never been challenged so hard by a quirkless person.
"YOU MAY HAVE GOTTEN SOME HITS ON ME, BUT YOU'RE STILL WEAKER THAN ME!!!" He yelled at her in frustration
"If that's the case..." Maki said, unfazed, as she pulled out the Playful Cloud and readied to charge again "THEN YOU'D BETTER BEAT ME WITH ONE HIT, YOU COCKY BRAT!!!"
She rushed at him again as he prepared a powerful explosion by spinning in the air.
'He preparing for a powerful attack that I won't be able to block, that means I have to end the fight quickly!' She thought as she went back and grabbed another quirk tool, a pair of gauntlets.  She put the first one on and launched the other into the air.  She called on the hand sword just as Bakugo was about to launch his attack.

HOWITZER IMPACT!!!

The explosion engulfed most of the stadium and Bakugo was sure of his victory as he was in mid air.  What he didn't expect was to feel a sharp pain in his right shoulder and not to be able to feel his quirk.  He turned his head in shock to see his opponent behind him with one hand clasped to the Inverted Spear of Heaven that was in his shoulder, nullifying his quirk and the other wearing the gauntlet and rearing back the Playful Cloud.
'You didn't expect this did you?  The gauntlets are imbued with a quirk that allow the user to switch places with anything nearby when they clap their hands together, I had the hand sword clap the one I was wearing so I could switch places with the one behind you and stab the spear into your blind spot.  The gauntlets are pretty tough so the other one's probably still in-tack' she said in her head, retracing her steps that led to this moment, a determined grin spreading on her face.
"RIGHT, THIS ENDS NOW!!!" She yelled as she slammed the three sectioned staff into her opponent's stomach and sending him flying into the smoke left by his attack before landing.  She didn't risk taking the spear out because if she did he could use his quirk to stay in bounds.

Everyone waited in anticipation for the smoke to clear, Maki readied the Playful Cloud just in case.  Bakugo could be seen on his hands and knees, wheezing from hanging the air knocked out of him.  There was a large Bakugo shaped imprint in the wall.
"BAKUGO IS OUT OF BOUNDS, THE WINNER OF THE SPORTS FESTIVAL IS MAKI ZENIN!!!" Midnight announced, the whole crowd erupted into cheers.  Maki was absolutely chuffed with herself, this would make sure that her hero career would be easier.

Bakugo had to be put to sleep by Midnight because he got so rowdy at his defeat and he'd been taken to the infirmary to get his wounds treated, Maki had tagged along to get the weapon the was still in his shoulder back.
"You sure did a number on him dear!" The elderly woman said sternly as she healed the wounds on his body as Maki cleaned the blood of her weapons.
"If didn't give him everything I had I would have lost and it would be easier for my family to get in the way of my hero career" the girl responded
"I can understand that" Recovery Girl said sympathetically, she couldn't even begin to imagine the abuse Maki went through when she was with her clan.  She also understood that by winning the sports festival, Maki would become an inspiration for other quirkless people who wanted to be heroes.
"Okay, I'm gonna greet my classmates before the medal ceremony" she said before leaving for the seats her classmates were sitting.
They greeted her with congratulations and cheers at her victory.  Eventually, Midoriya asked if he could write about her quirk tools to his note book while she went to the medal ceremony.  She agreed and left her bag with him.

She went beneath the stage where Todoroki and a chained up Bakugo were waiting on the podiums.  They rose up to the stage and All Might arrived to hand out the medals, he congratulated Maki for her victory and said she'd become an inspiration for other quirkless people.
