Maki stayed in her room most of the day, moving stuff around and making everything was in the place she wanted. She sat containers and books on top of the draws that contained her clothes, as she stacked empty cardboard boxes, stored the suitcases under her bed and her quirk tools in the wardrobe. The sun slowly set, taking the rays of light that had one illuminated her room so she had to turn on the light above her. She turned away help when asked because she was perfectly capable of doing this by herself and once she'd finished she went to throw away the empty cardboard boxes.
Eventually she went downstairs to join the others and found out the other girls had come up with a competition of seeing who had the coolest room. It seemed interesting so Maki went along with it.
They barged into Midoriya's room first despite his frantic protests and they could instantly see why. It screamed All Might fanboy.
After shoving Tokoyami out the way, the saw his room had a dark, edgy aesthetic that was characteristic of the raven headed boy.
Aoyama's room was exactly what they expected. Too sparkly.
The skipped Mineta's room and made their way up to the second floor.
Ojiro's room was very plain and it looked like he hadn't moved anything new in.
Ida's room matched his character. It looked like a library and he had a shelf full of spare glasses.
None of Kaminari's stuff matched and it, quite frankly, looked like somewhere the mad hatter would live.
Koda's room was animal themed and the girls got distracted by his pet rabbit.
At this point people were starting to get more competitive and Mineta made a surprisingly convincing argument that they had to look at the girls rooms as well to see which one was the best. The competition really kicked off at that point and those who previously weren't interested started to become more involved.
They went up to the third floor and skipped Bakugo's room because he had gone to bed. Kirishima's room looked like a big gym, it was Maki's personal favourite so far, unlike the other girls who straight up insulted it.
Maki was quite surprised to find out that Shoji was a minimalist. His room was almost empty apart from a desk and a futon.
They went up to the fourth floor and looked at Sero's room. It was very unexpected, he had an Asian style to his.
Todoroki had somehow managed to remodel his whole room so it was a traditional Japanese style. It was a lot bigger than Maki's old rooms back at the Zenin clan headquarters.
Sato was the last boy. His room was filled a lot of cooking and baking utensils and equipment. He then got out a chiffon cake that he had started baking because he'd finished unpacking early. He was an excellent baker and all the girls loved his cake. Maki being junk food fan was definitely going to get him to make her a secret stash.
Now it was time to look at the girls rooms. An embarrassed Jiro went first. Her room was full of instruments and music posters. Maki honestly couldn't understand why she was insecure about people seeing her room.
Maki went next, her room was decorated with a soft colour scheme which included purples, greys and blacks. The room had a dark wooden floor with a blue rug and white walls. On the right side was the bed with a lilac duvet with a dark purple throw and cushions on it. There was a free standing mirror positioned at the foot of the bed, several different pictures on the wall and stringy lights above the headboard. On the left side was a desk with a laptop and school supplies on it; a board with photos arranged on it and more stringy lights on the wall beside it. There was then a chest of draws with books stacked on top of it and a freestanding wardrobe. The window had purple curtains drawn over it.
"Wow, this nice Maki!" Yaoyorozu compliment.
"Mineta! Don't open the wardrobe!" Maki's warning fell on deaf ears as the grape haired imp open the freestanding wardrobe only to have a large number of different weapons land on top of him. "YOU IDIOT!!!" She yelled, causing everyone to shrink away, "That took me most of the day to arrange, I'll start all over again! Your not coming in here again!" Eventually, with the help of her classmates, she got all her quirk tools back in the wardrobe and they were able to move on.Ashido's room was very pink and girly.
Uraraka's wasn't that interesting and had mostly a random assortment of stuff in there. They didn't look at Asui's room because she apparently wasn't feeling well.
Yaoyorozu's was very cramped due to the giant bed that took up most of the space. She was a rich kid and was used to large rooms.
Eventually, they gathered back into the common area and put their votes in a box. Ashido, the game master, counted the votes and announced the winner.
"With a total of five votes, the overwhelming winner of this totally awesome contest is...""Rikido Sato!"
The boy looked very confused as to why he had won. Apparently all the girls voted for him because they loved his cake. With excitement over, Maki went up to bed in her new home along with her new neighbours.
Dorm life was getting off to a good start.
