As Maki predicted there were too many offers for her to make a decision in one day, so she had to spend the two days until the deadline looking through them all. Most of them were from weak hero agencies so Maki crossed those out; Japan may be oversaturated with heroes but the thing was most of them were weak ones and they didn't have an actual commitment to the heroic cause. The did it for money and fame; if a huge crisis happened that caused the public to lose faith in heroes, they would definitely hang up their capes. Maki wanted to intern with someone who was strong and was very committed.
She eventually narrowed her list down to 10 possible candidates. Now she had to narrow it down to heroes that specialised in combat, she didn't want to be stuck rescuing people or anything that wasted her time. Finally she chose the ones she thought were best and made her top three picks.

The day to start their internships arrived, they were now gathered at the train station with their briefcases. Aizawa was there to see them off.
"Everyone had their costumes right?" He asked "remember, you don't have permission to wear them out in public yet and don't loose them or anything."
"Gotcha!" Ashido exclaimed enthusiastically
"Speak properly, it's 'yes sir, Ashido" Aizawa corrected, which deflated her mood before continuing "Be sure to mind you manners with the other heroes during your internships, now get to it."
At that the class dispersed and went to catch their individual trains. Maki boarded the train bound for Kyoto, the location of the Rabbit Hero: Mirko's team, she was famous for working solo which subsequently meant she didn't have an agency. She was also well known for her immense Physical abilities and combat prowess thanks to her rabbit quirk. She wasn't that number six hero for nothing. Their strengths and personalities were very similar so that's why Maki chose to intern with her, it was a great opportunity for her to get stronger.——————————————
A flash of green, red and several other colours could be seen whizzing past at high speed followed by a sequence of battle cry's and rubble, dust and debris flying everywhere. The pieces of rubble that were once large had now been smashed into tiny fragments by a series of powerful blows.
"You can do better than that!" A confident, exhilarated voice that belonged to a woman yelled to her younger opponent, who responded in kind. She leapt from boulder to boulder, moving fluidly in the uneven terrain, not taking her eye of her opponent as she dodged, parried and counter attacked her opponents strong kicks with her powerful red three-sectioned-staff. In the early stage of their fight, Maki had engaged with her pole arm which gave her greater reach and more mobility. After having experienced the strength of her opponent's hits, however, she decided to even the odds by switching to the Playful Cloud. The Rabbit Hero had clearly underestimated how much of a punch the weapon packed because she'd tried to block the attack, only to be sent flying. She would have received a few fractures if she hadn't cushioned the impact with her powerful legs, now she was being very careful not to get hit and work her way around Maki's guard. It was proving to be more difficult than expected because of her intern's martial skill.
Maki could now tell her opponent was getting used to her fighting style because she was now landing more hits on her that when she'd first introduced the Playful Cloud into the fight. Her breath suddenly hitched as she blocked a powerful kick by crossing her arms and was sent harshly crashing into a stone pillar, crimson liquid flying from her mouth as the impact created a crater. Not even a millisecond later, the green haired girl performed a backward role the instant she saw large rabbit-like feet closing in on her face, her body instantly bringing itself up as she took a few deep breaths to slow down the hammering staccato of her heartbeat. Whipping the blood from her lips and the sweat from her brow.
Mirko was merciless. Both of them knew that the world of heroes did favour what side you're on in a fight. There were harsh realities that had to faced in order to get stronger and stronger and stronger, so the hero decided to give her new intern a lesson in pain endurance personally.
With a wild grin on her face, Mirko launched herself towards the green haired girl. Instead of blocking, however, Maki dropped the Playful Cloud and charged towards her opponent. Just before the rabbit hero's foot would have collided with her face, Maki ducked under the kick, pivoting her body 180 degrees, before bringing her right arm up under Mirko's supporting leg, knocking her off balance. She was able to save herself from crashing to the floor by catching herself with her arms and cartwheeling back onto her feet to face her opponent, surprised the show of martial finesse.
"Wahahaha! Nice move you used there!" Mirko laughed at her intern's choice to use her moves against her before launching herself at the green head again.
'It was smart choice, after all, you can't always defeat your opponents by overpowering them with brute force or overwhelming them with quick strikes. Sometimes you have to outpace their tempo, momentum and timing!' The rabbit hero thought as she closed in 'but then again, that move separated you from your weapon so let's see how you fair now!'——————————————
This exchange of Maki redirecting Mirko's attacks went on for few more minutes before Mirko eventually landed a sharp blow on Maki's face sending her to the ground, knocking off her glasses and leaving a nasty looking bruise on her face. She looked up at the rabbit hero who had an amused and approving look on her face.
"Not bad Maki, not bad at all! In fact, that was one of the most exciting fights I've had in a while; it went on longer than I expected" she said as her intern picked herself up off the floor as she wasn't injured too badly and she was tough. Maki didn't like relying on others. Keeping her mind on the goals she'd been set for this week, Maki thought back to the conversation she'd had on said goals.——————————————
"Hahaha, nice to know you chose me to intern with, Maki Zenin!" Mirko gleefully said after Maki had respectfully bowed in greeting for formalities sake.
"I took me several days to choose out of the 4300 offers I'd gotten" Maki replied
"Wow, that's a lot!" The rabbit hero exclaimed
"I honestly thought I'd get a lot less than that."
"Really?! Why?"
"My family are taking every opportunity they get to get in the way of my promotion, winning the Sports Festival must have really made it harder for them to stop pros making offers" Maki speculated.
"Okay, anyway, the reason I chose is you is from what I observed at the Sports Festival. You're a very skilled and talented combatant both armed and unarmed and your physical abilities are amazing, I can see you've developed them to make up for your lack of a quirk. You're a very good strategist as well but I noticed a few things..." She said before holding up two fingers "...your strategies tend to focus on physical combat and like me you prefer to overpower your opponents with brute force. So, that means we need to develop your problem solving skills by challenging you to come with different and complex strategies than the ones you normally go for. So make sure you don't break your bones because we'll be sparing a lot this week got it?!"
"Too right!" Maki replied determined——————————————
"Alright, patch up girl, we're going on patrol next!" Mirko announced as Maki gathered her quirk tools into her bag.
