Beth and Viv decided they were going to have a pool party and invited a few people including myself, Leah, Lia, Em, Katie, Steph, Gio, and Jen. They also invited Alessia Russo who has now been signed to arsenal, I know a few of the girls already know her from playing at England and her and Leah seem to be good friends. A few of the other girls were invited too but they couldn't come.
Me and Leah were in our room getting ready and I was debating on whether to wear a swimsuit or a bikini. I prefer bikinis but with the scar I don't really like to show it, it doesn't make me insecure in the slightest, especially because every time Leah sees it she wants to mount me then and there, but I've only spoke to gio and Jen a few times and I don't know Alessia so I don't want them giving me pity looks.
"Wear a bikini, I beg", Leah said as she wrapped her arms around my waist making me laugh.
"So you can just undress me with your eyes the whole day?", I questioned cheekily as she rolled her eyes playfully. I decided on a red bikini and a white cover up.
"Good choice on the red", Leah smirked as she decided on a black bikini and a pair of her arsenal shorts over her bottom half. She pressed a soft kiss to my lips and stroked my cheek, "I love you so much", I whispered.
"I love you more", she replied, "not possible", I smiled kissing her again.
"Cute, let's go", she said grabbing my hand as we walked outside and made our way to Viv and Beth's house. We made our way in the house and to my surprise everyone was already there.
"Well well, told you they'd be late", Katie said to no one in particular as she smirked. "Shut it McCabe", I said glaring at her, "there was no funny business, just couldn't decide on a bikini or a swimsuit", I said. "Why's that?", Steph asked as I cleared my throat and replied, "no reason, what we drinking?", I quickly changed the subject.
Steph gestured me to the kitchen where we were joined by everyone else, "babe, this is Alessia, Alessia this is Y/N", Leah introduced me.
"Hi, it's finally nice to meet you, she never shuts up about you, you know", Alessia said shaking my hand laughing making Leah roll her eyes, "nice to meet you too, and yea so I've heard", I joked as Leah just groaned. Em walked towards me handing me a drink and Prosecco, "what's in the drink Em?", I asked skeptical, knowing her drinks are usually 95% alcohol. "Vodka lemonade, cheers", she said holding up the shot, I had no clue what it was but soon found out it was tequila.
"Katie, Beth!", I shouted over to them, "get over here we're doing shots", me and arm smirked as we saw the disapproving but amused looks from both our girlfriends. "Y/N/N you're an absolute menace, always trying to get everyone drunk", Viv said laughing, "oh come on party pooper, you know you want one", I said holding up a shot wiggling my eyebrows.
She looked at me with a devilish look and now I'm actually quite scared, making me down my vodka lemonade, "party pooper?", she questioned as she moved off the kitchen counter, "Leah help!", I shouted to her, "oh no, you made your bed, lie in it", she said winking at me as I took another shot. "Traitor!", I shouted at her as I ran outside with Viv close behind me and the others following behind laughing.
"Come on Viv I was just kidding", I said trying to reason with her, trying my best not to laugh, already feeling the effects of the alcohol. "No you weren't", she said smirking as she picked me up and started walking towards the pool, "no Viv wait, put me down!", I squealed as she threw me in. I came up above the water and flipped Viv off, seeing everyone else laughing.
"Anyone up for volleyball?", I asked smiling as I made eye contact with Leah as she smiled back. Everyone got in the pool after topping up their drinks, me asking Em to sneak us more shots like the menaces we were. The teams for volleyball were me, Beth, Katie, Em, and Gio, and then Leah, Lia, Viv, Steph, Jen, and Alessia.
The game was fun to say the least, but of course our team won, making the rest of them scowl and say it was just like. Leah floated over to me as I wrapped my legs around her waist and my hands around her neck, "you cheated", Leah said as I gasped in offence, "we won fair and square", I laughed, kissing her lips softly, "get a room!", Katie shouted to which I ignored her and just flipped her off.
I walked into the kitchen to get myself another drink, taking a few sips and taking a minute to myself. I looked down to the scar on my stomach, tracing it with my finger, a reminder that I survived, but also a reminder that the person who did it is still out there.
"Hey", I looked up to see Alessia, "hey", I said removing my hand from my stomach.
"How you liking arsenal?", I asked, "it's great, the girls are amazing and I'm glad I made the move", she replied as I took a swig of tequila, handing her the bottle which she took.
"I know the girls are excited for a change, I've seen you play, you're good", I said genuinely, "thank you, she said smiling. We both sat up on the kitchen counters facing each other, talking about everything and nothing, she was easy to talk to and she gives off good vibes, I could definitely see us being good friends.
"I noticed your scar earlier", she said as I looked down taking another drink of tequila, "I'm not asking to know, I just want to say sorry for whatever happened", she said and it shocked me that she didn't know, "you really don't know?", I asked and she shook her head no.
"I was shot", I said making her snap her head towards me. "Should have figured, I knew you were a detective, it didn't even click", she laughed as I laughed along with her. I never usually tell someone I've just met my life story, but I trusted her.
I told her about my dad, how he was murdered and the guy who did it got away, how he threatened Leah and shot both me and Em. "Wow", she breathed out as she handed me back the bottle, "I know", I laughed out. "You think he's gonna come for you?", she asked softly, I nodded and replied, "I know so", I said with a small smile as Leah walked in and she looked absolutely hammered. She stumbled over to me and I saw Alessia laughing in the background.
"You are smashed", I laughed out as she just cuddled into me closing her eyes, "good thing we're all staying here tonight", Alessia laughed walking back outside to the others.
"Alright, up you get", I said to Leah as I hopped off the counter and gestured for her to get on my back which she did. I walked outside to join the others, setting Leah down on one of the chairs as I heard Beth and Katie making gagging noises behind me, "you guys are so cute it makes me sick", Beth said making everyone laugh.
We all continued to have a couple more drinks, water for Leah as she was hammered. We all eventually called it a night and settled into where we would be sleeping, the couples got the guest rooms thank god, so getting Leah to sleep was easy enough. I got changed and crawled in beside her and she cuddled into my side as I kissed the top of her head, there's nothing I wouldn't do to protect her. I ran my fingers through her hair until I knew she was asleep and I fell asleep soon after.
