Me and Katie pulled up to the hospital and ran inside and straight to reception.
"Hi we're looking for a patient that was just admitted, Leah Williamson", Katie hurried out as the nurse typed on her computer.
"Relationship to the patient?", the nurse questioned.
"She's my fiancé", I shouted slamming my hand on the table as I felt Katie place her hand on my shoulder. The nurse looked at me sympathetically as she replied. "She's currently in CT, I'll tell the doctor to give you and update, you can wait in the family room".
We thanked her and were shown to a private room while we wait for the doctor. I sat down and anxiously started to shake my leg. Katie placed a comforting hand on my knee as I placed my hands over my face and started to break down.
"Oh Y/N/N, come here", Katie said as she pulled me into her. We heard the door open as we looked up to see my mum, Amanda, David and Jacob. Amanda walked over to the other side of me as she hugged me and we cried into each other.
"Any news", Jacob choked out.
"Nothing yet", Katie said sadly. We were interrupted by the door opening again as Tooney, Alessia, Beth, and Lia walked in.
"Aren't you guys supposed to be at a match", I sniffled out.
"We all got subbed off, figured you needed us more than them", Beth said as I got up to give them a hug. We all sit down again as I seen Meredith through the window talking to who I remember to be April.
They both walked into the room and I could tell it wasn't good news from the look on Meredith's face. Amanda placed her hand on my knee as Meredith began to talk.
"We took Leah to CT, the trauma to her head is extensive, she has severe head trauma and a bleed on the brain, we're going to have to operate", Meredith said softly as the tears I've been holding back start to fall.
"We're prepping her now, I'll make sure to send someone to give you updates every half an hour", April said softly as she left.
"Due to the severe head trauma, there's a chance she could wake up with amnesia, this could be temporary, but it could also be permanent. I'm sorry, we'll know more if she wakes up", Meredith finished.
"If?", I questioned standing up as Katie stood with me.
"Brain surgery is dangerous, I'll make sure to give you updates okay?", Meredith replied as I nodded and sat back down.
"I need some air", Amanda said as she walked out of the room as my mum followed quickly after her.
"Alright let's go get some coffee", Katie said as us girls left the room as David and Jacob stayed behind.
We walked to the coffee machine in silence, no one really knowing what to say. We heard the doors open as we looked over and seen Viv, Steph, Caitlin, Kim, and Cloe walk in. I looked behind them and also seen Katie Zelem walk in. My hand gripped the side of the coffee machine tightly .
"Y/N don't", Katie said but I didn't listen and made my way to Zelem. I gripped onto her jacket and pinned her to the wall.
"You fucking idiot, what the fuck were you thinking!", I shouted as I felt a couple pairs of arms pulling me back.
"Y/N that's enough", Alessia shouted as they managed to pry me off of her.
"It was an accident, I didn't mean to", Zelem said. I knew she didn't mean to I'm just so furious right now. I walked back into the family room and sat back down.
"Hey", I heard a voice say as I looked up and seen Beth.
"What if she doesn't remember me Beth, what if I've lost her forever", I sobbed as Beth leaned down in front of me.
"You can't think like that Y/N/N", Beth said as she pulled me into her. Beth eventually cradled me to sleep as I was spread out on the seats with my head on her lap.
"Y/N/N wake up", Beth said lightly shaking me awake. I sat up to see everyone back in the room as Meredith walked in.
"Her surgery went well, she's in her room resting. As for the amnesia, we won't know until she's awake. You can see her now", Meredith said as a few of us followed her while the rest waited.
"Just through here", she said as she opened the door. Me, Amanda, Jacob and David walked through as I took in a shaky breath.
I walked through the door and my heart broke to see her looking so fragile. She had a bandaged wrapped round her head.
"Oh Le", I breathed out as I took a seat and on one side of her bed and grabbed her hand whilst Amanda sat at the other. The room was silent, all that could be heard was our quiet sobs.
The girls started to come in to see Leah, but I refused to leave, I couldn't leave her side.
"Y/N/N, visiting hours are over", my mum told me as everyone was getting ready to leave.
"No", I said as a stray tear fell from my eye.
"Y/N/N-"
"I'm staying, I'm not leaving her", I shouted, "I can't leave her", I said more quietly choking back a sob.
"It's okay, she can stay. I'll bring in a bed", Meredith said as she left.
The girls kissed Leah's forehead and mine before saying bye. Amanda was the last one in the room, I could tell she didn't want to leave either. She kissed Leah's forehead as tears fell freely from her eyes. She walked over to me and brought me in for a hug.
"She's a fighter Y/N/N, she'll be okay", Amanda said softly before she left and I was left alone with Leah.
I gently cupped her cheek and rubbed my thumb against her soft skin.
"Hi baby, I'm not sure if you can hear me, so I'm probably just talking to myself right now", I laughed before I continued. "I don't want to be selfish and tell you I need you to live, but I do. Everyone does, your mum, dad, Jacob and the girls. We need you Leah, I can't do this without you so please, please be okay", I said as I started to cry again.
Meredith walked into the room wheeling a bed as she smiled at me.
"Thank you for this", I smiled as she nodded.
"Last time you 2 were here it was you in that bed and Leah refused to leave. I brought her in a bed too", she laughed.
"She stayed?", I questioned.
"Every night until you woke up", she said softly as my heart warmed.
"Get some sleep Y/N/N", she said before leaving the room. I got into the bed and rolled to my side facing Leah as I grabbed her hand and gave it a kiss. I managed to fall asleep pretty quickly because of how exhausting today was.
