It worked

I woke up pretty early the next morning as Leah was still sound asleep, realistically that should be me. I slowly creep out of bed so I don't wake her up and dig into my suitcase for what I was looking for then walked downstairs. I made myself a cup of coffee and sat outside, soaking in the sun. I seen Leah through the window still sleeping so I walked back inside and made her and myself breakfast. I also prepared the little box and put a bow on top.

I walked upstairs with the tray and box, leaving the box on the drawer at the end of the bed and setting the tray down on the bed.

"Le, wake up", I said softly as she stirred and opened her eyes.

"Nooo", she whined, "I wanted to make you breakfast", she huffed as she sat up.

"You looked peaceful, I didn't want to wake you", I said tucking some hair behind her ear.

"What's in the box?", she asked eating a slice of toast.

"You can open it after you eat", I said getting under the blankets and cuddling into her side. She was still naked so I removed my shirt and enjoyed the skin on skin contact.

"Can I open it now?", she asked impatiently as I jokingly rolled my eyes.

"Yeah", I said as she hopped out of bed and threw on a shirt making me pout. She stood at the end of the bed with the box in hand, my palms sweating and my body racked with nerves.

She opened it and pulled out what was inside, setting the box back on the bed. She opened the T-shirt inside with shaky hands as she looked at the front. It was a tiny Arsenal T-shirt.

"Y/N/N", she whispered as her eyes started to fill with tears, much like my own.

"Turn it over", I whispered as she shakily turned it around and let out a sob.

"Baby Williamson. Due 26th December", she said softly as she looked up at me, both of us crying. I stood up and grabbed the positive pregnancy text and showed it to her.

"You're-"

"We're pregnant Le, it worked", I cried as she just beamed at me, picking me up and spinning me around as I let out a little squeal.

"It worked", she sobbed and I nodded.

"It worked", I smiled as she sunk to her knees and pressed a kiss to my stomach.

"I know you're probably the size of a peanut right now-"

"More like the size of a really tiny seed", I said laughing as she hushed me.

"I'm talking to our baby here", she said as I beamed at her.

"I know you won't hear me right now but I want you to know that your mummy and I love you very much, even if you end up being a boy"

"Leah", I scolded her, giving her a tap on her head as we both laughed.

"I'm kidding, we'll love you no matter if you're a boy or a girl, as long as you play football", she finished with a laugh as I stroked my fingers through her hair. She stood up and brought me in for a kiss as I wrapped my arms around her neck.

"Wait- when did you find out?", Leah asked, she wasn't annoyed I found out without her, just curious.

"Remember when we did that test and it was negative? The second time?", I asked her, feeing a bit guilty considering we had an argument. She nodded her head softly as I continued.

"After you left I felt horrible so I tried it again a few days later, and it was positive. I took about 10 after that and they were all positive", I laughed as she wrapped her arms round my waist.

"I'm sorry I did it without you", I whispered looking away. She brought her hand to my cheek and moved me to face her.

"Don't apologise, it worked. That's all that matters", she said softly pecking my lips.

Flashback:
"It's negative", Leah said deflated as I just burst into tears.

"It's okay, we can try again Y/N/N", she said pulling me into her.

"I'm exhausted Le, I can't do this again", I sobbed as she ran her fingers through my hair.

"You're emotional Y/N/N, we can talk about it tomorrow", she said softly as I pulled away from her.

"I don't want to talk about it Leah", I said raising my voice slightly.

"Don't raise your voice at me Y/N/N, this isn't my fault", she sighed.

"So it's mine?", I snapped.

"I never said that", she scoffed.

"You didn't have to Leah. Maybe there's something wrong with me and I can't get pregnant", I muttered sitting down at the edge of the bed.

"Y/N/N", she said softly.

"Don't, I just need some space", I said avoiding her eyes as she just sighed.

"Okay", she whispered kissing my head and leaving. She wasn't gone for long as I broke down and she was the only person I wanted comfort from. So once I called her, she came back to me.

"I'm sorry Le, I'm sorry", I sobbed as she walked in the front door.

"Come here", she said softly pulling me into her, "it's okay", she whispered.

"What if it never works", I sobbed as I looked at her, tears falling down both our faces.

"It will, and if it doesn't there are other options we can look into. We're going to have a baby, I promise", she comforted me as I placed a kiss on her lips before the both of us went to bed.

Present:
"Ready to go?", Leah asked as we were going into the town to explore, then come back and get showered and changed and go for dinner.

"Let's go", I said grabbing her hand and pecking her lips as I slipped my sunglasses over my face.
