Today is Christmas Eve and me and Leah are finishing getting ready before going to our parents house. It's starting to set in that I'm going to have to sleep without her for tonight. And also the fact I haven't told her I'll be spending tonight by myself to avoid my aunts.
"You ready to go?", Leah ask as she hugged me from behind. I sighed and nodded as I went to walk out of our bedroom but she stopped me by grabbing my wrist.
"Hey, what's going on?", she asked softly.
"I just- never mind it's stupid", I said dismissing the fact I'm scared to sleep by myself. Pathetic. I know.
"Your feelings aren't stupid Y/N/N, come here", she said as she pulled me down beside her on the edge of the bed.
"Now what's going on?", she grabbed my hand and stroked it softly.
"This is the first night I'll be spending by myself since, you know. It's stupid I know I just- what if I'm not able to sleep without you? What if I can never sleep without you again? Fuck I sound so pathetic, I mean what kind of fucking idiot can't sleep without their partner for one night and-", I stop talking as Leah cuts me off and I feel myself starting to hyperventilate. I stand up from the bed and start pacing to try and control my breathing.
"Y/N/N, I need you to breathe for me okay?", Leah said softly as she places her hands on my shoulders to stop my pacing. I followed her breathing for a few minutes until my breathing settled.
I looked into Leah's eyes and I started to laugh which made her confused. I put my hands over my face as I continued to laugh.
"God, I'm sorry. I'm fine really. I can't let him have an affect on my life forever. I'm good, promise", I said as she removed my hands from her face.
"I know you're saying you're okay, but for the record, it's okay not to be", she said softly as she cradled my face with her hands.
"Come on, our mums are gonna send out a search party if we don't hurry up", I said jokingly as she rolled her eyes, me knowing my mum won't as I won't be home till tonight.
We made our way outside as we both put our bag in our cars.
"I'll see you tomorrow night"
"See you tomorrow night", I replied as we kissed each other goodbye and got in our cars.
I rang my mum on the way to the house, can't be driving the car to the bar and I also need to check that the coast is clear.
"Hey mum"
"Hey sweetheart, you on your way?"
"I am, just checking that the coast is clear", I said rolling my eyes as she sighed.
"They aren't here yet, I'm sorry Y/N, it's just after your dad they've always wanted to come here and I couldn't say no", she said sadly.
"I know mum, it's fine, I'll be there in 10, see you soon okay"
"See you soon, love you"
"Love you too", I hung up the phone and continued the drive to her house. I soon pulled up to the house and parked my car, grabbing my bag and walking inside.
"The favourite child has arrived", I said loudly as I closed the door.
"Nope, he arrived about 30 minutes ago", my ass of a brother said from the kitchen.
"Hey Y/B/N, I've missed you", I said bringing him in for a hug.
"Guess I missed you too", he said as I rolled my eyes.
"Ass"
"Language", my mum said as she pulled me in for a hug.
"Alright, I can't stay for long, don't wanna bump into the aunts from hell"
