It's been a few days and this will be the first day I get to hold her. We also decided on the name. Mackenzie Eve Williamson.
Everyone liked the name, though some of the girls made some jokey comments about her not being named after any of them. I was currently in my hospital bed waiting for Alex and Leah to bring Mackenzie over. They finally walked through the door as I let out a squeal of excitement.
"Here she is", Alex said as he wheeled Mackenzie to my bedside as she was cooing and making noises.
"Hi sweetie", I cooed before making grabby hands at her. "Gimme gimme", I said making the both of them laugh.
"Mackenzie is gaining weight right on schedule", Alex said as he handed her over to me. "She's healthy and fat", he continued.
"Fat baby", Leah said leaning over the top of me to coo down at Mackenzie.
"Fat baby and healthy enough to go home today", Alex said as I gave him a scared look.
"Are you sure she's ready?", I asked panicked.
"Y/N/N, you can take your kid home", Alex said softly before his pager went off.
"I got to go, but congrats on your fat baby", he said running over as we mumbled a thanks.
"Why the face? It's a good thing", Leah said sitting down on the bed and facing me.
"Not for me", I said looking down at Mackenzie.
"What do you mean?", Leah asked confused as I sighed.
"My incision opened back up. They want to do wound therapy", I said sadly as I looked at her. Her expression softened as I looked back down at Mackenzie.
"Mackenzies going home, but I'm not", I said as Leah placed her hand on my thigh and gave me a reassuring squeeze.

Leah starts to pack up Mackenzie's stuff as I try to hold back my tears.
"When you get home, just put her in the little yellow onesie with the frogs on it. That was her going home from the hospital onesie", I said as my voice breaks and a few tears fall down my cheeks.
"I know, I'll take pictures", Leah said softly as she clips Mackenzie into her car seat. I bit my lip hard as I watch them both before I burst out crying.
"Hey-"
"She's going home without me", I said sadly.
"Yeah, but what did we just say about that?", Leah said softly as I rolled my eyes.
"The important thing is that she's healthy and I'm healthy", I said.
"Exactly"
"That's crap", I said annoyed as Leah looked taken aback by my outburst but she tried not to laugh. "She's supposed to be with me- bonding and attaching or whatever. Smelling me like birds and dogs-", I cried out annoyed as Leah sat beside me.
"Birds and dogs?", she said confused.
"Shut up it's nature", I said slapping her. "How's she going to attach to me when she's there and I'm here", I said pointing between the 2 of us.
"You're gonna be discharged soon-"
"And then what? I'm still gonna be in recovery, I won't even be able to pick her up without help", I choked as Leah tried her best to comfort me.
"You should just go", I said getting myself together.
"I'm not going anywhere when you're this upset", Leah said softly as I shook my head.
"You have to, because I'm not gonna stop", I said laughing through my cries making Leah laugh. "I'm just gonna die of dehydration", I said putting my hands over my face.
"It's gonna be alright-"
"Just get out Le otherwise I won't let you leave", I said as she placed a kiss on my forehead, picked up the car seat and left.
Over the first few days, Leah visited me with Mackenzie every day and FaceTimed me every night so I could be involved in putting her to bed. I've also received many visits from my mum and Amanda, as well as the Arsenal girls.

It's now been 2 weeks, I was discharged last week and I've now been allowed to do more movements such as walking about and I've also been able to finally lift Mackenzie, which I'm thankful for as every time she needed a feed, Leah had to put her on my boob which wasn't a fun experience.
"When's Amanda bringing our dog back?", I heard Ava asked Leah as I laughed.
"We just think-"
"You!", I shouted from the kitchen.
"Okay, I think we should just wait a few more days, let Mackenzie get used to everything", Leah reasoned as I heard Ava scoff.
"The fuck? She's like 3 weeks old, grow a pair and go pick up our dog, Jesus", Ava said as I bust out laughing from the kitchen.
"So you're just going to laugh and not scold her for her language?", Leah shouted from the living room.
"She turned 18 a month ago", I shouted back.
"You still scold her if she cusses at you, what's different with me?", Leah shouted making me laugh.
"You scold her then", I shouted back as I heard Leah give Ava a lecture.
"Thanks", I heard Ava mumble as she walked past the kitchen.
"You're welcome sweetheart", I said sarcastically as she flipped me off and walked upstairs. I put the dinner on a low heat before walking back into the living room to see Leah sat on the sofa with Mackenzie in her arms.
"Why are you still here? You have a dog to go get", I smirked as I sat down beside her and gently took Mackenzie from her arms. She just smirked at me and stood up before putting her shoes on.
"Why are you smirking at me like that?", I said following her to the front door.
"Everyone's on their way for a chill night, they want to see Mackenzie, and by everyone, I mean everyone", Leah smirked making me gasp and point a finger at her before she opened the front door.
"Leah Catherine Williamson", I shouted before she ran out the door and Mackenzie started the cry. Fuck sake. The girls have been overbearing but I'm not complaining too much, means me and Leah have a lot of babysitters.
"I'm sorry baby girl, you're mummy is a little-"
"Uhummm", I heard Ava clear her throat as I jumped and turned round to see her with her arms crossed.
"Were you about to cuss Leah out in front of the kid?", she asked smugly. "Can't wait to tell her that", she smirked as I glared at her and successfully managed to make Mackenzie stop crying.
"You wouldn't dare", I challenged as she shrugged.
"Whatever, be a good sister and take Mackenzie so I can get a shower", I said handing her over before running upstairs. Showering these days is the only peace and quiet I get so I always take my time.
Once I get out, I change into joggers and throw on a sports bra as I trace the scar from my c section. I throw a hoodie over my head before I felt hands around my waist.
"That was fast", I said to Leah as she kissed my cheek.
"You've been up here for like an hour babe", Leah said softly as I turned to face her.
"Sorry, I didn't realise I was in the shower for so long", I mumbled before letting out a yawn.
"You tired?", Leah asked pulling me into her chest.
"Hmmm, but we have guests", I said tiredly as I grabbed her hand and dragged her downstairs to join everyone.
