ANGST
Also this does lean in more into the cannibalism that's part of the au lore and used for the reader. Just keep that in mind.

In the small, quiet town of Welcome Home, nestled between rolling hills and dense forests, two shop owners held their secrets close.
Butcher, the hulking puppet who owned the butchers shop, was known for his fresh, tender meats. He was a rugged man, his muscles a testament to his years of hunting wild animals. There was something feral about him that left an unsettling feeling in those who crossed his path.
Y/n, a cheerful human who owned a newly opened bakery, known for their sweet, surgery desserts. They where a easy going person, the scent of their cakes and pastries often lingering around them. Their aura was pleasant and drawiled customers in with irresistible allure.
And soon the two would have their first encounter.
"I can't imagine why you wanted to open your business in this town. But it truly is a delight for us folks to get our hands on delicacy even Howdy's bodega can't compare too."
A customer chatted, her voice a mix of delight and worry. It was a kind hearted women, the baker could tell. So they in return where the most attentive and helpful they could be to ensure a new lasting connection.
It was good to get to know the people here.
See what they where made off.
See if they where able to appreciate their hard work.
See if they tasted as sweet as they looked to be.
You really had a sweet tooth.
Maybe the towns people here would able to satisfy your craving.
"Honestly the population of sheep is larger than the human and puppet inhabitants." She let out a sigh before her voice dropped to a whisper. "Especially now with so many missing."
As Y/n and Poppy (yes momma bird) continued engaging in polite small talk, the encounter was tinged with an inexplicable unease.
At least unease for one of them.
The baker made a mental note of all the information that was presented to them, offering some cookies on the house to keep their dear customer talking.
They hummed a soothing tune, to help with the others unease. Smiling to themselves as their saw the others wings relax again instead of poofed up by anxiety.
