Y/n threw a coconut against the rocks, hoping it crack open eventually. It took a dozen attempts but finally they managed to break in in two uneven halves.
They took a sip from the coconut milk, already sick and tired of the taste. Stranded on a remote island, where only banana's and coconuts grew.
They would do anything to eat or drink something else-
Y/n was laying on the shore for dead, exactly how they felt on the inside. Everything about their situation sucked.
And there where the hallucinations again... the sight of a ship in the horizon. It was just their mind creating a imagine to give false hope.
"If only it where real..."
They kicked their feet against the sand, laying face down now as uncomfortable as it was they where just procrastinating.
"Ahoy matey, are you alright?"
The human barely registered a voice speaking to them, they slighty lifted their head to see a yellow puppet look down at them.
His expression one of concern.
"My imagination sure is working overtime, first time I have hallucinations this vivid... and handsome."
He let out a sigh of relief upon seeing he didn't stumble upon a corpse but someone alive.
"Aye. A compliment for me, much appreciated."
Y/n's former dead expression turned into shock as they got picked up by Captain.
They had gone by so long without the physical touch of another living being (aside from a seagul they wrestled with).
They instinctively wrapped their arms and legs around him for a hug, not intending to let go anytime soon.
"Your real! Like actually real." They shouted in disbelief.
"Blimey! You aren't lookin' so swell. Mind sharing your story with me." He was caught of guard by how strongly they reacted, holding onto him for dear life it seemed.
He adjusted his grasp on them, originally he planned to carry them but now he put them in a way that supported their body better.
"I was abandoned with no food, drink, or possessions. I've been stuck here for months."
Y/n was breathing more heavily, they recalled the memory of their old crew starting a mutiny.
They hadn't gone along with it and where forced to walk the plank of shame. Ending up washed up on a deserted place in the ocean.
"Who would ever maroon such a lovely person as yourself?"
Captain seemed to get a understanding of their situation, he gave their shoulder a gentle squeeze.
He wanted to show he would try to be off any comfort, to the best of his abilities. Familiar with how cruel a pirate's life could be sometimes.
"I saw a ship earlier... that was yours right?!" Y/n mumbled, before looking around trying to spot it. "Wait where is it, how could you have come here without it?"
"I instructed my crew to wait for me in the distance, the current around this island is dangerous and I don't wish to damage my ship." Captain said with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes. "So I went out by myself, I have... abilities that allow me to travel under water."
The puppet showed the sharp teeth in his mouth, his eyes turning black, his skin almost glowing now and he continued to change his appearance.
The human watched in amazement, they wheren't even scared by changes, they had read stories about those who where capable of shapeshifting.
He was a siren no less!
You never saw anyone more beautiful.
"Why did you come here..." Y/n wondered, in awe of his new form.
"I came by this place to find hidden loot." Captain explained, his smile widened.
He showed of a map with a instructions to find a chest of gold. It contained a classic red X as a mark where it was supposed to be.
"But to think I didn't have to dig far, I already got the real treasure in my arms."
