Rainbow led Y/n up the factory, where they see more workers and security guards. Once he entered his personal room, he asked them to sit down.
Looking around the room, it's fairly nice with a lot of pictures on the wall of himself and his family. On the bookshelf, they see a book with a interesting title. *How to be a better father.*
"Sir why was it you called me here for exactly?"
"I heard you have experience with handling kids. I might need some help."
Earlier today.
"Sweetie can you please look at me."
Rainbow tried his best to be patient and calm but he felt his irritation grow as Ophelia kept on turning her back to him, almost refusing to acknowledge his existence.
She curled up further into a ball, clearly upset and frustrated herself.
"Go to hell daddy!"
His eyes twitched, he got up from his chair. He stormed out of the room, slamming the door shut behind him.
"Spoiled girl. I give her everything she needs, a roof over her head, food and toys to keep her entertained. Safety. And still-"
He leaned against a random wall with a agitated expression.
It's not like he enjoyed it keeping her trapped in a holding cell but it was for her own safety. He almost lost her once in the grinder, it was by sheer luck a worker (it was Y/n 🤭) managed to save her in time.
But his own paranoia couldn't handle the idea of nearly losing his only source of happiness he had left.
So that's why he locked her up for her own good.
Ophelia was extremely depressed by being locked away from any human contact or freedom. She was still a child and missed going outside or having anyone to talk too beside her last remaining family member.
"Your daughter clearly needs some else to look after her as well from what you told me. But I really don't think I'm suitable for the job."
Y/n was still a bit antsy, growing more worried as they got a drawing placed in front of them. It was a crudely drawing of them.
"Ophelia drew this. For a while now she has refused to draw me, which hurt I'll admit but she remembered your face. I think she will accept you."
Rainbow looked a bit a annoyed at this fact but he also saw the potential to get his daughter to open up to someone.
Once she accepted her new temporary caretaker he would subtle insert himself into her life again.
He would fix this broken family, even if he needed to manipulate his own child and employee.
