Scott and I walk out the door and onto the third floor of the parking garage with the groceries in our hands. We glance around before he speaks. "Do you remember where you parked the car?" Scott asks.

"Uh... no," I admit. "But I'm pretty sure it's not on this floor."

"Damn it."

We walk back through the door and head up the stairs to see the fourth floor. We walk out the door, and I glance around. "This looks right," I comment. We start to walk through the garage, and we look through the entire garage without finding it. "Okay, maybe I was wrong."

"Cassie," he groans.

"I'm sorry, okay? I didn't mean to lose my car," I defend. I set the groceries down and pull out my keys. I point the key around before speaking. "Listen for the beep."

I click it a couple of times, and he speaks. "I think it's above us."

"Great," I mutter. From the corner of my eye, I notice the milk roll out the one of the bags. "Oh, shit!"

I rush toward it, but it rolls underneath a car.

Great.

Suddenly, the milk rolls back to me, and my brows furrow. "Scott--," I start when I hear a low growling. I slowly look up, and my eyes widen when I see a figure in the mirror behind me. "Scott!" I shout. I quickly turn and run in the opposite direction of the wolf. Scott follows my lead, but I'm nowhere near as fast as him. He speeds past me, and I gasp. I glance back to see the wolf gaining on me. I glance around when I spot a row of cars. I rush toward them and slide between two of the cars. I press my back against one of them as I take a couple of quiet, deep breaths. Sweat trickles down my face, and I peek around the car, but I don't see it anywhere.

I hear several car alarms go off, and my brows furrow.

I wonder if that was Scott.

I quietly walk through the parking garage when I hear a phone ringing.

That's definitely Scott's ringtone.

I walk around the corner to see Derek lift Scott up and slam him against the hood of one of the cars. "You're dead."

"What the hell was that?!" Scott exclaims.

"I said I was gonna teach you. I didn't say when," Derek shrugs.

"You scared the crap out of me!" Scott shouts.

"Make that two of us," I comment with a glare.

"Not yet," Derek responds.

"Okay, but I was fast, right?" Scott asks.

"Not fast enough," Derek shakes his head.

"But the car alarm thing, that was smart, right?"

"Till your phone rang," Derek states.

"Yeah, but that was... I mean... Would you just stop?" Scott shouts. "Please?" Derek stops walking and turns around. "What happened the other night, Stiles' dad getting hurt, that was my fault. I should have been there to do something. I need you to teach me how to control this.

"Look, I am what I am because of birth. You were bitten. Teaching someone who was bitten takes time. I don't even know if I can teach you," Derek admits.

"What do I have to do?"

"You have to get rid of distractions," Derek starts before snatching Scott's phone out of his hand. "You see this?" I look at his phone to see that he has a missed call from Allison. "This is why I caught you. You want me to teach you? Get rid of her."

"What, just because of her family?" Derek slowly nods before pulling his arm back. "Wait, wait, wait--" He throws his phone across the parking garage.

"You getting angry? That's your first lesson. You want to learn how to control this, how to shift, you do it through anger, by tapping into a primal animal rage, and you can't do that with her around."

"I can get angry," Scott states.

"Not angry enough! This is the only way that I can teach you. Now, can you stay away from her? At least until after the full moon?"

"If that's what it takes."

"Do you want to live? Do you want to protect your friends, your sister? Yes or no?" Derek questions.

"Yes. If you can teach me, I can stay away from her."
