ARIANNE
"Gaga 'to. Bagsak na nga nakukuha pang pumarty,"
I bit my lower lip as I smiled a little before pouring my glass a champagne.
"What do you want me to do, Xandra? Sulk over it? No way," I said to my friend while trying to laugh. "Hey, where's your cousin? I'll greet her," I said.
"I think you're drunk already pero ayun siya, may kausap sa phone. Hey, Anne! Last na 'yan, I called your driver! Umuwi ka na!"
I ignored what Xandra said and just walked towards her cousin's direction. Habang papalapit ako ay nakita kong ibinaba na nito ang cellphone na hawak at ibinulsa.
"Hey, baby girl namin!" I approacher her.
"Ate Anne!" she said, smiling.
I opened my arms for an embrace, not minding that I spilled some the champagne on my glass.
"Happy birthday, pretty! Welcome to legality. Just always remember that we, your ates, are always here for you. Don't hesitate to call anyone of us, huh. Wag ka rin mahihiyang magpakilala ng manliligaw o ng boyfriend mo sa amin kapag meron na." malambing kong saad habang yakap siya.
"Ate Anne, you've had enough drinks," I heard her said as she chuckled.
Sumimangot lang ako tsaka hinarap siya nang maayos. She's been like a little sister to me kahit na pinsan lang siya ng kaibigan ko. Nakahanap kasi ako ng pamilya sa pamilya ng mga kaibigan ko kaya pinapahalagahan ko talaga sila.
"Hoy, madam Arianne! Kanina mo pa pinaghihintay ang driver mo! Napakain na nga namin."
Napalingon ako sa isa pang babaeng lumapit, si Johanna, kaibigan ko pa.
"Why? Ang aga pa!" reklamo ko.
"Girl, it's past twelve midnight! Lasing ka na, kung ano-ano kasi ininom mo kanina tapos ngayon nagcha-champagne ka pa? Oh my gosh, dapat ikaw nalang solo sa 18 shots kanina eh." aniya tsaka hinawakan ang braso ko at inalalayan ako sa paglalakad pabalik sa loob since nasa garden kami kanina.
"Am I really drunk?" I asked in a low voice.
"Yes, so mag-sleep ka na sa house niyo." saad niya naman.
Sumimangot nalang ako.
Along with our other friends and the birthday girl, hinatid pa nila ako sa kotse. Napapikit nalang ako habang nasa backseat. Alam ko nalang sinabi nila sa driver ko na iuwi na ako.
