Alexander's POV
"Why the hell am I paying any of you? You can't even do your goddamn jobs!" I yell and slam my fist down on the table.
These past few months have been so exhausting that I honestly don't even know when I last slept in my bedroom.
A few ministers look at me but say nothing while the others stare at the ceiling.
"You have till the end of tomorrow. I want the reports on my desk. I swear if your names are not signed at the bottom of your assigned work, your out. I don't care if I will have to find someone else to do your jobs. This is all pathetic."
I get out of my chair as my royal robes swishes around me.
The papers manifest in my hand and I throw it on the table.
Someone comes barging into the locked door and I turn my head to see what idiot thought it would be a good idea to do that.
Cassian storms in with a smug look on his face.
"Not now, Cassian. Get out." I say and point towards the door he just barged from.
"No, you wanna hear this. Guess who knew about this entire charade and never decided to tell authority?"
I press my temple as the signs of headache are starting to arise.
"I don't have time to play with you Cassian. Just get to the point."
He exhales and everyone in the room waits for him to continue.
"Little Aurora and her pest like friends. She goes missing during the battle and then shows up out of nowhere to the funeral. Ian Sterling, a close friend of the actual girl not the fake, said she told her other friend to make contact with the imposters skin. That's how she came back to life."
I knew the part in where she had gone after the battle, as I saw her with Adrian. But how the hell did she know what was going on over there? Even my own stupid good for nothing sources didn't know of that till a week or so after the event.
"Find out where she is and bring her to my office. Or get ahold of one of her friends." I tell him.
"The mandatory dinner before break is tonight, we'll probably see them over there." Cassian says.
I shake my head.
Cassian raises an eyebrow at me.
"I wasn't planning on going to that. I have-"
"Alex. It's literally mandatory."
I give him an annoyed look.
Looking at everyone I raise my finger and point to the door.
"Meeting's dismissed. Be useful for once." I wave my hand over everyone.
They all hurry out and I look back at Cassian.
"Her friends clearly know somebody who knows shit that we don't. It's been a while since I talked to Aurora. Have you been keeping an eye on her at school?"
He shakes his head. "I've been getting so much work in my own classes that I don't have time. I saw her on the top floors a while ago though. She's leveling up fast."
I give him a puzzled look.
He smacks his forehead.
"For her combat classes man."
"What the hell is the girl hiding?" I question out loud.
Wait a second...
"You fucking dumbass.."
