Liv's POV:

The drive felt like hours until we finally reached the spot. It seemed like a plaza.

She headed out as I followed her. There were stores, but the area was filled with people enjoying the fresh foods.

I could almost smell the makings of pizza in one of these stores. Yet she walked down the path.

She completely distracted me with the fact that I didn't even change but as I looked around no one seemed to care.

It was different from Chicago. Anything you do would be talked about.

"All of these places look like restaurants to me. I thought we were going to get a quick meal?" I catch up to her almost hearing my breathing.

She seemed calmer than expected as she paused her pacing. She looked behind me as I look behind to see... a food truck.

Out of all the places in here she chose a food truck. Maybe she ain't as predictable as I thought.

"Don't drool just yet" she smiled as she walked closer to it. She placed her hands in her pockets and glared at me.

"Pick" she demanded softly as I sighed looking at the menu acting like I wasn't hungry.

The taco options all looked so good. That I almost did in fact drooled. I couldn't help but look at the prices though.

They were way more expensive than I thought. A taco for $12 is crazy. "Don't... look" her words flew into my ear as I forced myself to choose what I wanted.

I pick my choice and she chose the same. It was the hottest option. She gives me the wrapped taco and took extra hot sauce packets with her.

She unwraps it in front of me as I stared at the fuzzing escaping from the meat which is silenced by the spice.

She pours the hot sauce against the meat until there wasn't any left. She then licks her lips making them look softer than it already was.

I don't know why, but she made it look so good. She takes bites from it with escaping moans.

"Okay chill. We get it you can take spice" I laugh out as I take a bite and I almost thought my tongue got cut off from the pain.

How can a taco be this spicy?

Her brown eyes gazed at mine seeming to wait for something. For me to react to spice, but I have been eating food 10x worse than this.

It was unexpected that's all. "You... Okay? Seems like a cat caught your tongue" she asked acting like she ain't enjoying this. I try to take another bite but every time I open my mouth it just burns more.

''Here'' she passes me a soda can I didn't know she had as I accept it faster than I thought. By the time the can escape my lips, i already finished it.

She starts to laugh so loud it almost caught everyone attention and yet was the only sound that overtook everything.

I have never seen her smile this big. Ever. It was contagious, we continued this... trip throughout the day.

She wanted to show me another place she thought would be nice and honestly I didn't care that my feet was screaming to relax somewhere.

We stop at a small cafe called Choco. "We already ate"

"Please. You took like 2 bites and called it a day. Cmon. Now this is desert" she walked in opening the door for me.

We make it inside the small cafe as there was only about 6 people in here and everywhere smelt like chocolate.

She finds us a seat and makes our order. Couple minutes passed and the waitress brings out a... box.

"Thanks" Torrey said as she stared at me like this was the best thing ever. "Do you just hate regular food?"

She smiled "I hate overrated foods which somehow tends to be restaurants with the most rating"

"You just haven't been to the right place yet"

Her laugh was quick this time and her face completely went down like she was thinking about something.

"You.. okay?"

"Ye- yeah. I just realized that I actually haven't been to any places outside Oakland since well my sentence" she said as she self consciously rubs her tats on her arm.

I couldn't help but look over to her sleeve seeing different types of unique drawing placed on her arm. It seemed more over layered like she was trying to cover something.

"Does that explain the tattoos?"

Her eyes gazed up at mine competing quiet. "In some ways... yes" she seemed bothered every time I bring up anything about her. Like her being a topic, was a pet peeve.

I understood it. Sometimes it feels good to not always be the centre of attention.

"So. The chocolates. What type is it?"

Her eyes flickered into a softening brown tint. A soft grin formed her lips as she moved the box around to me.

"Think about every chocolate mix into one. Well a variety of it" she opens the box explaining it visually.

I see a chocolate charade. I wanted to eat all of it. I take one and bite onto the vanilla mixture of chocolate inside.

All the remaining burning sensation on my tongue was gone. "Taste good huh?" She asked bitting onto one.

Her eyes drifted to mine slowly melting. It looked like her brown eyes were falling into mine.

And I couldn't stop staring at them. Until I got a notification from my phone almost making my heart beat faster.

Maggie.

She texted me all day, telling me how much she missed me and was ready for our date tonight.

... tonight. Shit. I should be getting ready. Not sitting down eating chocolate. I get up and head out complete panicked out.

"Was the chocolate that good?" I could hear her waking up to me. "I have a date tonight, and I'm here wasting time when I should be getting ready.

I check my phone seeing it's alright 7:20. She expects me to arrive by 8:05.

Fuck.

"We need to get the outfit.... NOW" my words shake her as she nods her head with a mouth stuff with chocolate.
