A/n: this is a request for a continuation of the protective father stories where Jude and y/n are parents x I hope you all enjoy ❤️
You woke up to the sound of your alarm, 6am, surely it is inhumane to wake up at this ungodly hour you thought to yourself, but your children came first so you forced yourself out of bed.
You went around to Jude's side of the bed and placed a soft kiss on his forehead, grateful that your alarm didn't wake him up too.
You made your way to the bathroom and quickly got ready for the day. Once you had got yourself ready you went downstairs and began making three packed lunches for your kids.
It was the first day back to school and for your youngest it was his first day of primary school, he was starting reception so you wanted to make sure he had everything he needed for the first full day that he would be away from you and at school.
Once you had finished making the packed lunches you ironed the kids uniforms making sure they were ready to be worn when they woke up.
After you finished ironing you began making the rounds of waking everyone up. You placed a uniform in each room when you attempted to get them up for school. The kids needed at least three visits to ensure they were actually out of bed and getting ready so you went from room to room getting everyone out of bed.
"Darling, please it's time to wake up." You say feeling the exhaustion hit you hard after your fourth trip to your daughters room.
"But I'm tired" Jasmine whined as she buried her head into the pillow.
"So am I Jasmine, but I've been up for almost two hours, now let's go, you've got to give a good example to Jacob, it's his first day today." You say as you open her curtains and pull the covers off her.
You exit the room hoping that this time she will listen, you turn your attention to Jaylan who is walking out of his room already dressed in the uniform you laid out for him.
"You are an angel Jaylan, well done for getting ready so quickly." You say pulling him into a hug.
"Thanks mum." He says with a smile. "Is dad downstairs?" He questions as he lets go of you.
"No sweetheart, dads still in bed, he's tired from his game yesterday so I didn't want to wake him up." You say rubbing your sons back.
"You know mum, you should let him help you, you can't do everything by yourself." Jaylan says to you making you pull him in for another hug.
"My darling boy, you are the sweetest person alive you know." You say as you place a kiss on his cheek, "pack your bad for school please and I'm going to get Jacob up and then I'll come down and make you breakfast ok." You say making Jaylan nod in response.
You let go of him and he goes to pack his bag, you walk into Jacobs room and begin to get him ready for his first day of school. The sadness washing over you as you get him dressed.
"Let me help you baby." You hear causing you to turn to the door.
"No baby go back to bed it's fine." You say to Jude. You knew he was in pain from his game yesterday his knee was feeling sore all evening and you wanted him to sleep and let his body heal and rest.
"Y/n, you can't do everything by yourself, there's three of them for gods sake." He says with a chuckle pulling you into his embrace.
You stand in his arms and close your eyes. You feel the safety and comfort of being in Jude's arms over take your whole body. You rest against his chest and everything feels peaceful.
"Mummy" you hear Jacob call out to you.
"Yes darling" you say without moving from Jude's arms.
"I'm hungry" he says cutely causing you to chuckle a little bit.
