Kai and Adeline were staring each other down. Both had very stubborn personalities and both not willing to back down. Poor John didn't know how to correctly settle the situation. Kai could be quite rude when he wasn't happy and even though John could admit Adeline was not the nicest girl he met she was still a costumer who needed help.
Adelina inspected him mockingly. She was baiting him to get mad. Kai did have a problem getting annoyed but he didn't want to give her the satisfaction.
"So are you going to continue to stare at me or do your 9 to 5? Because it's not 5 yet." She added sarcastically.
"I think I'll head out the couches are pretty comfy if your friends can't get you. Sinks not the best but it's as close to a shower as you got." He remarked.
John released a breath of distress before patting Kai on the shoulder to try and ease him. Kai stared down at the man and his and held his hands up. What did John expect. Maybe if it was a kind Samaritan he would feel more inclined to help. But kind and this lady were not in the same sentence.
"Alright guys let's all just take a minute." He attempted. Kai quickly laughed and shook his head. "Take a minute? You can, as I said I'm leaving." Adeline rolled her eyes at his remark.
"John can do it without you. I'm sure. You don't seem like the competent type." She waved him off. The man was probably off to go commit some crimes. He looked the type. Kai smirked and nodded. "No I'm not but John is great hopefully you treat him well. I'd hate to have to call the cops to haul you out of here."
Johns eyes widened he saw her open her mouth to say something and decided to step in once again. "Please excuse us for a minute.." He pulled Kai back into the employee only room. The grown man begrudgingly followed. "Kai let's just remain calm here." He tried. Kai deadpanned him. "I'm perfectly calm. Just annoyed that I have to deal with a rude customer when I'm supposed to be off by now." Kai pointed at him. "I know maybe we are just misunderstanding her." John pathetically offered. "John she's a grade A b-"
"Okay I know. And I'm so so so sorry Kai. I promise you will get next weekend off completely and I'll pay you double for this. I couldn't just leave her there. And Syracuse is a long drive." John explained. Kai stared at the man in annoyance but sighed. John was such a softy. But he was a good guy. Kai was sure he'd never be like John but he admired his kind heart.
"Bring the car in. Get her information together now I'm not interacting with her again. Because I have no promises on my temperment." He grumbled crossing his arms like an unhappy teen. He was sure that's how John still saw him.
"Kai you're truly the best." John smiled patting his shoulder. Kai waved him off and waited for John to bring the car in. He needed to see how fried this car was before he called Skylar and cancelled on her.
This was supposed to be the day he asked her out officially. What a load of bull.
Kai peaked out at the woman who was arms crossed seemingly getting snarky with John. Kai almost went out there but she said something and John smiled and shook her hand. She looked hesitant to touch his hands as if she was disgusted but she conceded. John went to the back to the pull the car in.
Kai shook his head and waited. What a piece of work that one is. He felt bad for who ever came home to her. Kai looked over to the break room at the phone he would have to call Sky.
Before he could go, John and the car came in through the garage. It was still attached to the truck. His eyes widened at the bright red color. That was a sexy car. Kai whistled with a low tone. How did this woman mess up this car?
