Longest chapter in JustforFun history at the moment. Idk why my chapters have been getting longer 😂

Her car was done. It was finally done.

Adeline managed to stretch the needs of her car to where they were pushing to 2 months of her coming in. And in those two months Kai really did keep the conversation to cars only.

She was growing very hopeless. She realized just because she changed doesn't mean she deserved another chance. But it sure would be nice.

She walked into the shop to finally collect her car. Reggie had inspected it and verified it was looking good. He was a lot more friendly with her at the moment. She supposed he forgave her for what she did. And it was nice that someone did.

Kai wasn't in yet today. She hoped she could drag her visit out long enough to see him. But he was running really late. She wondered why. Maybe to avoid her.

He wouldn't have to do it for much longer though. She knew she should probably catch a hint. With the movie and music awards coming up very very soon, Adeline had other things to distract herself with. But she had to see him one more time

Adeline looked at John as she waited for her final payment. She wondered if they were tired of seeing her too. John has never been mean to her just sad. She sent the letters here so Kai was less likely to throw them away. But she wondered if it was annoying to all three of them. She's sent Kai a total of 14 letters. The last couple of weeks she doubled up. But she needed to accept that he didn't want them. He didn't want her anymore. So she had letter 15 in her hands now to give him. She had no more after it. She was going do the right thing.

But doing the right thing felt so horrible. And admitting there was nothing she could do to stop this was just as horrible.

"Did...did my package come in?" She asked quietly trying not to get emotional. John sighed sadly. He wanted to give her a hug so bad but it felt unfair. "Yes it did." Adeline chewed on her nails as her eyes a little to try and stop her self. "Oh um good...did he get my letter."

There was a pause and then John looked away from her. "He didn't read it. He um never reads them." Adeline felt her heart break hearing it verified. John was quick to apologize for hurting her like that. "I'm sorry." Adeline shook her head.

"No no it's okay...he doesn't have to read them. I'm just glad he gets them." She gave a brief smile. It wasn't a full one but it was still a smile. "This one is for him. I promise there's no more." She assured him she handed John the last letter.

"I'm so sorry Addy. He's just been dealing with a lot with you, his mom, and Sky-"

John abruptly stopped because that sounded wrong. He immediately started to blabber about that's not what he meant and it wasn't what it sounded like. But Adeline didn't register it. She was already thinking.

Skylar was a part of his personal life?

Skylar...Skylar was perfect for him all along. She couldn't be mad at him. It was true Skylar was the better option for someone like him. And Skylar would've never hurt him like she did. And Kai probably realized this

"It's okay John really." She blinked her eyes quickly and nodded with a smile. "No Adeline I swear it's not-"

But of course at the worst time Kai's car pulls up and not even 10 seconds later so does Skylar's. Adeline couldn't help but imagine why they were both heading here so early in the morning. Why Kai was late.
