Since I forgot yesterday to do my annual birthday update here's some more. And I'll update another of this and another book of your choosing by or before Thursday.
The city at night was something pretty nice to look at as you flew going 85 mph on the highway. Kai has been to the city hundred of times. He was raised in Queens prior.
Coming back as a visitor was something he was cautious about but yet he always was pulled to come because subconsciously his inner child hoped his mother would be looking for him. But she wasn't. And his father was a stranger so Kai didn't really know why he still had those childish thoughts.
Not being enough was a sucky feeling and he didn't want that feeling to overwhelm their weekend so he just continued to look at the nearing lights of the city.
"Drink drink drink drink!" The men cheered in the back of the car while Kai drove. They were pregamed and already pushing the point of sloppy. "Alright you guys are cut off so you won't embarrass yourselves whenever we get to the city." Reggie chuckled.
Kai kept quiet most of the drive. Every now and then laughing or smiling at something someone said but he was pretty drained. His week got better as it progressed and he felt a lot better about going out to the city. Otsi'tsa was very adamant about him going out and having fun. They fussed at each other for a minute because Kai was losing desire to go but eventually Kai did heed to her wishes and here he was with these drunk idiots.
He knew they weekend would be luxurious however because Reggie was marrying a very rich woman. Well her family that is. Her father worked on Wall Street and made a hood name for himself and he wanted his future son in law to have a good weekend. So Kai was sure they would be going to some places he never even breathed in the direction of.
"Did I tell you I met a model!" John exclaimed he was always a rambunctious drunk. His ex wife, whom he still loves and still loves him, was so quiet he basically had to be obnoxious. "I highly doubt that John." Luke one of the other guys in the car laughed. "No I did! Adeline Jones I swear."
Kai knew John was going to brag about that every opportunity he could. John could be such a teenager sometimes. "No f*cking way you met Adeline Jones." Luke scoffed. "I did. She came to the shop." John defended himself.
"And I slept with Madonna after being her contractor." Drew the last person in the car gasped mockingly. Kai smirked at that. "I'm being serious! Kai met her too I'm not lying."
The men turned to Kai who was too honest for his own good. "Is he messing with us or being for real?"
Kai sighed and nodded. "We did actually have the unfortunate pleasure of meeting Ms Jones."
"Unfortunate? Adeline Jones is hot as all hell." Drew hit Kai's head from the back seat. Reggie turned to look at Kai. "It must have been quite the unpleasant experience for you Kai if you're not saying much."
"I have a list of names in my head I would use for someone like her but I'll refrain. She was as nice as capable for her towards John though." He admitted. "I told you idiots." John proudly huffed.
"I only believe you because of Kai." Luke rolled his eyes. Kai chuckled. "You really weren't impressed?"
Kai shook his head. "No. I won't lie she is hot I'll give her that. Probably one of the most eye catching people I've seen but my God that attitude made me want to through myself off the George Washington bridge. I hate celebrities they are a bunch of assholes."
"I'll drink to that." Drew nodded in the back. The rest of the drive was pretty mild and tame. They got to the hotel in one piece all the men hooting about how nice it was. Reggie definitely struck a gold mine. He didn't even know his future wife was rich until he put a ring on it.
