Ello!
"Hey Mr. Jones." Kai held the phone between his ear as he dressed himself. He and Adeline got to spend a lot of time together lately. But it was time for them to face the music together. Because neither one of them wanted to keep sneaking around anymore. The event in Cali was the best time for her to do it.
"Hey Kai how's it going over there?" Kai glanced at Adeline who was in her bra and panties putting her robe on so her stylists could get to work. She realized she was falling behind and panicked handing the phone to Kai even though the two men have yet to meet.
"She's getting dressed right now. That's why she kinda threw the phone at me." He laughed. Jaimie laughed too. "Sorry I couldn't catch you before you two headed to California. I was extremely busy and was in Virginia for work." He apologized. "No worries. Once we get back my aunt wanted to have dinner for us all."
"That sounds great. Also I wanted to say thank you...you've really helped my daughter and I know she loves you very much. So I wanted to say I am very appreciative of all you've done for her. For loving her." Jaimie spoke gently.
Kai glanced at Adeline as she was getting serviced and smiled a little. "I do love her very much. I appreciate you for caring about her and being a good father. I didn't have my parents to be there for me so admire you doing that for her." Kai responded.
"I look forward to meeting you son." Kai nodded to himself. "I look forward to meeting you too sir. I'll take care of her."
"Never doubted that."
The two men concluded the conversation. Kai walked over to Adeline and kissed the top of her head. "Hey." He greeted. "Hey." She reached for his hand. "I'm almost done."
Kai looked in the mirror looking at her. "You look amazing." Adeline smiled at the compliment. "Thank you. So do you."
The stylists finished quickly with her and left the two of them to their privacy. Kai grabbed her purse and shoes getting on his knee to tighten put them on and to tighten them.
Adeline smiled down at him as he helped her. He was so sweet. It drove her crazy. He finished up and stood to his feet planting a kiss on her lips. Aside from how excited she was for them to spend the evening out. She was shaking about the unknown. They were about to head out the door any minute now.
"Okay Kai...Are you sure about this?" Adeline asked straightening his tie. "I'm sure Adeline." He cupped her cheeks. "You're more nervous than me." He laughed. "I just don't want it to overwhelm you or for you to get invasive questions." She held onto his suit jacket.
She smoothed the shoulders down and looked up at him with worry. She wanted this to go well tonight. This was a big deal. There was no forewarning about their relationship. She could handle press but Kai wasn't a celebrity. He never had to deal with the chaos of it all. He said it before when they were becoming friends that he could never be one.
So admittedly she was concerned about it how he was going to take the attention. It was going to be a lot of deal with. She was not embarrassed to be seen with him. She just wanted to be confident that he would be okay with the life of fame that came with being with her. She observed him carefully to find any ounce of hesitation. He had his hair tied back in a put together but messy way. He actually allowed the stylists to touch it. He had been a lot more picky about his hair lately. He decided he was going to embrace his heritage and not cut it anymore. He looked so handsome and he looked happy.
"I'll survive." Kai gave her a sweet confident smile. He clearly wasn't as worried as she was for him. "Okay...if they do too much or say anything rude just let me-" Kai just kissed her chuckling against her lips.
