It was officially the wedding day.
Kai had been working like crazy both in and out of the shop. Reggie was starting to get the normal stress of crunch time as Saí also was stressing but they remained sweet to each other and their bridal party. John and Kai were doing what ever they could to make life easier for their friend but of course that was going to difficult with the date coming closer and things still needed to be done.
Kai picked up Reggie's slack in the shop and John with his artistic touch played a major role in helping out for the wedding. Reggie was very appreciative and promised he'd make it up to them.
Otsi helped as well. She had planned on coming to the wedding but caught the flu so Kai had also taken care of her. He felt everything was moving that a freight train. He was bummed his aunt wouldn't be there but it was probably best so Adeline didn't work herself up on the possibility of meeting his family. He knew she would panic about first impressions and that was not something he wanted. Not now. He did enjoy kind of having her to himself all this time.
He knew Otsi knew they were dating even without him saying anything. But he would formally tell her and introduce them only after talking to Adeline and seeing how comfortable she was with it.
Things were starting to feel more serious between him and Adeline and he was equally pleased and nervous. This was beyond what he expected to happen.
It was like every date they went on and every phone call the more her intricate web was weaved in his life. He couldn't help himself from thinking about her and what things she would want to do for their next date. Or how she liked this thing but not that thing. It was honestly ridiculous of him to be acting like this. He couldn't remember the last time he acted this manic trying to make a woman happy.
Of course on the exterior Kai was as cool as a cucumber. But internally he was begging for Adeline to have a good time on all the silly dates he took her on. He couldn't afford what she was used to. And while Kai wasn't insecure with not being the money maker he wondered if she felt a type of way about it.
The underlying truth was that he wanted to make her happy. That was all and he was going to do his best to do just that.
He now waited outside her beautiful home in his suit. It was time for the wedding and he wanted to make sure Adeline was feeling as important and included as he could possibly make her feel. He didn't want her driving herself so he didn't ride with the other groomsmen and Reggie supported this move. Reg really liked Adeline for some reason more than any other girl Kai has talked to. And Kai really respected Reggie's eyes. Saí was a great woman.
He stared at the door after knocking. His hands feeling a little sweaty like he was waiting for his prom date. He held a couple blue flowers in his hand like an idiot. He didn't even know if she liked flowers. He didn't even know if she liked the color blue.
He remembered all the pink in her apartment and cursed to himself. Maybe he should've gotten her pink. But he knew she would be wearing blue. Maybe he could just chuck the flowers in the bush and pretend he didn't get any at all. He tilted his head in thought and almost did it but the door opened....
F*ck...
Adeline came out in a baby blue dress that reached her ankles. It was simple but it hugged her in every way it should. The back was open but still it wouldn't over power the bride in the slightest. Aside from the fact that she was a supermodel and that wasn't something that could be helped.
