On your birthday it's normal to have expectations of a pretty decent day. Adeline didn't plan on a glamorous day but she expected it to be at least half way decent. Oh how she was wrong she was. She woke up to the sun blinding her. Her maids pattering outside her door.
She didn't ask for breakfast in bed today so there would be no disturbance of her rest. She sat up and stared out the window. It felt like another day. Just a casual Friday. She didn't feel like she had just turned 30.
She felt anxiety tinge in the back of her mind. Her mother always warned her about 30. This is when her career would take a turn for the worst. She was aging out. Her reign of terror and beauty would be stunted by younger models. It's what's she's always feared when 30 came.

He's been such a confusing additive to her life. She still didn't want to say how he has affected her. She couldn't fully admit to herself. Besides , publicity wise it would never ever work. They had two very different life styles and much to her astonishment Kai seemed completely indifferent and uninterested in her. Of course she wasn't blind completely. Her home was very quiet aside from busy feet. But she wasn't sure how she felt about it. She half expected her mother to call but so far nothing. She finished her prep and put on a rather simple sun dress and some nude colored strappy heels. Before she could think of what next the phone rang.

"Hey baby girl! Happy happy birthday!" Her father's cheerful voice always melted her heart. "Thank you. How are you?" She smiled. "I'm fine baby how are you?" He inquired. Adeline look around her empty room and shrugged to herself. "Very good it's a good day." She lied.
