1 year later

Adeline smiled as the crowd of paparazzi and fans greeted her as she walked into Versace's spring debut fashion show in Miami Florida. She's flew in for it after a brief shoot she had in the islands. She was wearing one of Donatella's favorite emerald dresses that fit her snuggly.

Looking ever so regal as she always did but she had a new step to her stride. A new confidence if you would.

This time instead of walking the runway she would be sitting beside Dontella critiquing their show. It was a huge step for herself. One she didn't expect to be so amazing. But here she was. A Versace rep. And a pretty damn good one.

She has been doing more than anyone thought she would be. She had been to every board meeting and put her two cents in every topic. They planned each line with Adeline's careful suggestions and she has also been on selection duty for a few shows.

Adeline of course still modeled some times. She was too famous to really stop cold turkey but she definitely dialed back in how active she was. People just paid more than before for her face to be there since she no longer did regular shows.

And she did so without a problem. Adeline kept her hands clasped in front of her with a beaming grin as reporter after reporter hurled questions at her. It was a chaotic event but yet they still went for it.

"Adeline! Where have you been!" One reporter called out louder than the rest.

Oh yes. That was another new development. Adeline had been MIA for a good period of time. Barely seen. At least in the public setting. Every few months she would show her face outside but she's really just been working. But then she was gone for a good month.

No one could find her or get in contact with her. Her job of course knew she was gone but had no idea where. But no one needed to know...she was enjoying life.

Her new life. And now she was back and happy to present her self as Mrs. Adeline Carter Green.

______________

It was her wedding day.

It took about 10 months after Kai proposed to her for them to buckle down on what they wanted to do for the wedding and get married.

Adeline wondered if Kai internally feared she was going to want a giant wedding. And maybe four years ago she would've wanted that. Flooded with cameras and celebrities and her mother's face of pride. But marriage was important to her in a completely different way now. She wanted it to be personal and only surrounded by people who loved them.

Kai added a lot of contributions about the wedding because Adeline was adamant she wanted a traditional Kanien'kéha wedding for them. She knew Kai was surprised she wanted that. But she was positive this was what she desired. And she wanted it for not just her self but mostly for him.

She knew he was really glad about her decision. But of course he was going to be very gentle about it. He didn't want to force his culture on her. So he left her personal visions solely to her devices. But little did he know she was going to do everything possible to respect his culture.

Her dress and everything was handmade. If they were going to do it, they were going to do it right. It was white made from doe skin leather with beautiful tapestry and beading. Otsi had worked on it with a couple other women in the reservation and even Marbelly, for the full 10 months. It was customary for the for the groom and even the bride's family to make the dress. Otsi wanted it to be perfect. So she really put her all in it and Adeline could tell.
