7 months later

"For f*cksake!" Kai snapped pushing his way to the front of the shop. The sound of cameras were never ending ever since he and Adeline went public.

He thought they would slow down after the first couple of months. He got bombarded every day to the point where he would drive in Reggie's car some days to keep people off his track. But nope. It seems as time goes on somehow they are more interested in him.

Adeline jokes that his hotness has made her more famous than before. And regardless of Kai's denial it was kind of true. Kai's humble private life was no longer private. Everyone was interested in his story now and in him. The number of women who were coming to the shop now were unbelievable. Reggie, John, and Kai were practically booked out every month.

They prioritized and blocked off times for people of the reservation only. But they had some times for outsiders to come in if there was space. And the outsiders were taking advantage of it.

But once the paparazzi came it drove Kai crazy. Most times he just hid in the back so the guests wouldn't see him. But  every now and then he had to got to the front for work or to take out these gnats.

"Get the f*ck out. This is a business not a press conference." He stared down at the four camera men outside. He was glad it was only a few today.

"Can we ask about the next step for you and Adeline?" One blurted out.

"You can step outside my place of work before I call the cops." He responded. "It's not a good look for Adeline with such fame to be paired with a temperamental blue collar." One responded egging him on.

"I'll be sure to tell her that." Kai smiled knowing no there was nothing that was going to break them up again. "Now one more time. Get the f*ck off our property before I call the cops and get you banned from the rez." Kai pushed more.

Reluctantly the paparazzi left. Kai blew out a breath of annoyance. He turned back to the customers and Reggie and John apologetically. "I'm sorry about that." He sighed before tiredly walking to the back. "I need a minute."

One of the newer lady customers attempted to get his attention but Kai paid no mind and went back to back to finish the car he was working on in silence. He knew the guys knew he needed a second by himself.

Damn this was difficult sometimes. Days he wasn't in the best mood or he was anxious made him more irritate with paparazzi. He was tired of the invasiveness they exuded. Kai wasn't even an interesting person. He had nothing interesting or juicy for them.

He was just growing more irritated because they tied him and Alka together. So they know his mother was a drug addict. It didn't do too much to Adeline which was good but now they are questioning him about drug use and his upbringing which quite frankly is none of their damn business.

Kai didn't want to be associated with Alka's bullshit. He wasn't like her and he never would be. He just wished they would give up on bothering him. They aren't going to see anything interesting unless Adeline was around. And Adeline gave him more space at work.

Kai felt bad about it because he knew she was doing it so he didn't get his safe space infiltrated more than it already is. He needed to buckle down on her and tell her that he didn't want her not to come to the shop as much. This is where he met her, this is where he fell in love with her. She's always welcome here with him and she shouldn't feel like she can't come.
