"Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed." - Genesis 9:6
We were called to Florida State Penitentiary to interview two death row inmates responsible for the murders and tortures of multiple teenage girls between 1985 and 1990.
When we arrived, Hotch immediately turned to me. "Porter, I would like for you to assist me in the interview of Jacob Dawes."
"But I was supposed to go with Gideon." I complained.
"Reid can go with Gideon. We need Dawes to confess to more bodies and you are just his type." Hotch explained. "And you can tell if he decides to play mind games."
Spencer knitted his eyebrows. "So Cassie is going to be bait?" He seemed uneasy.
"She'll be perfectly safe." Gideon stated while smiling at me, making me less nervous.
"I think you should go first, Hotch." I said. "Considering his profile, he won't say a word to you unless you give him something. When I show up, it will throw him off guard."
Hotch nodded and walked into the interrogation room. "Are you going to be okay?" Spencer asked.
"Peachy, Spence." I grinned and he kissed my cheek. Through the corner of my eye, I noticed Gideon smiling at Spencer's gesture.
Both of them were going to interview Sarah Jean Mason, accused of accessory to Jacob's murders as well as the murder of their own son, Riley. She was the most hated woman in the state, considered even worse than her husband. I really wanted to interview her.

As expected, Hotch was being ignored by Dawes. Not only did he decided not to say a word to Hotch, he also had the audacity to play cards, without paying attention to Hotch's questions.
When I walked inside the room, his eyes immediately traveled to me, eyeing me up and down and giving a spine chilling grin. "Who is this, Hotch? Have you been hiding her from me?" Jacob asked while shuffling the deck.
"My name is Dr. Porter." I said reluctantly. "I'm here to assist in your interview."
"Take a seat, Dr. Porter." He smiled and dealt the cards to Hotch and I. "Do you have a first name, Dr. Porter?"
I sat on the metal chair and glanced at Hotch, who gave me a reassuring nod. "My first name is Cassidy, but everyone calls me Cassie." I looked at my cards and then looked at Jacob. "Do you enjoy playing cards?"
He placed his cards face down on the table. "You're not gonna ask me about the murders I committed?"
"I already know your file from memory." I smirked. "I know what you did and what you would have done if you didn't get caught." I sighed while taking another card from the deck. "You are fascinating to me in a scientific point of view. I have no idea how you could have lured those girls." My eyes landed on Jacob once more. "I mean, I'm a full grown adult, but as soon as I saw you, you gave me the creeps. Imagine the perception those girls had of you."
Jacob showed his cards and chuckled. "I guess this round is mine." He turned to Hotch. "Where did you find Cassie? She's something, isn't she?"
"Dr. Porter is one of my best agents. Very young and smart and pretty, right Dawes?" Hotch enticed him.
"Very pretty indeed." He smiled from ear to ear. "Too pretty to be a FBI agent."
"Hotch, I'm not sure what I'm doing here." I stood up and headed to the door. "You promised me he would talk to me but he all he does is play cards and antagonize me. I'm done!" I stormed out and looked at them through the window.
