"Whoever undertakes to set himself up as judge in the field of truth and knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods." - Albert Einstein
It's been a few hours since we returned from Tennessee after finding Mark Gregory and we were swamped in paperwork. I glanced at Spencer and sighed. "Spence!"
He looked at me and rolled his eyes. "I need to focus on this and don't have time to participate in banters."
"No, silly!" I smirked. "I was thinking we could do something tomorrow."
He stopped what he was doing and looked at me with a puzzled expression. "What do you have in mind?"
"We could go to an antique fair."
"And maybe lunch at that diner you like so much." He suggested and I nodded with a huge grin. Spending time with Spencer was exactly what the doctor ordered.
Gideon walked to my desk. "I need to talk to you, Cassie."
"Okay." I put down my pen and walked with my mentor. "What's wrong?"
"Someone I know might be in danger and I need your expertise." Gideon stated.
"Are you going to question someone?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Not exactly." He replied. "It's a confidential matter."
I crossed my arms and furrowed my eyebrows. "You can trust me."
"It involves the CIA." Gideon informed me and I was in shock. Working for the Bureau was already big enough, but the CIA was a matter of national security. They were basically trained to be stealthy and spy on possible enemies.

Gideon called me to his office and, once I stepped inside, I saw a man near Gideon's age with a stern expression on his face. "You called?" I asked shyly.
"Come in." Gideon smiled at me and I nodded before closing the door. "Bruno, this is Dr. Porter."
Bruno Hawks stared at me with a disapproval look. "I had no idea you let children work at the BAU." He scoffed.
"You wanted the Human Lie Detector, right?" Gideon asked and Hawks nodded. "Dr. Porter is the elusive one." He then looked at me with an amused expression. "I know Cassie is young but she is the best we have at our disposal and she's very discreet."
"I need individual interviews with the agents that worked with Summers." I stated.
Hawks shook his head. "I don't want my team to know I suspect them."
"With all due respect, sir, but how am I going to utilize my expertise if I am not allowed to speak to your agents?" I asked with furrowed eyebrows.
Gideon turned to me. "Cassie, I know you can find a way to do it without being noticed. You're an observer."
"Gideon, I'm not a magician. I need to talk to them and ask them questions in order to observe their reactions." I was mad at this point.
"Can you take us to your office?" Gideon asked.
"Isn't that a breach of confidentiality?" Hawks responded with a question.
I glanced at Hawks. "Deflection. Commonly used to hide something." I stepped closer to Hawks. "What are you hiding Deputy Director?"
Bruno Hawks grinned. "She's good."
Gideon nodded and I smiled. "We need the team, Gideon."
"Of course. The BAU needs to a part of this investigation, Bruno." Gideon demanded.
