"Some of the best lessons are learned from past mistakes. The error of the past is the wisdom of the future." - Dale Turner

I arrived at the BAU cause I had a lot of paperwork to fill and Hotch was on my case. A woman was obviously frustrated with the espresso machine and I leaned against the wall, amused at the sight. "Do you need help?" I asked with a cheeky grin.

"I think this machine is broken." She said while smacking the machine, making me laugh. "What?" She really was mad.

My eyes traveled to the wall behind the coffee machine. "Perhaps you should plug in the machine instead of going all Rambo on it."

She frowned while looking at the lose plug and then smiled at me. "This is my first day."

"Welcome to the BAU." I smiled widely. "My name is Dr. Cassidy Porter but you can call me Cassie like everyone else."

She extended her hand. "I'm Emily Prentiss."

I shook my head. "Nice to meet you Emily Prentiss." I glanced at her hand. "I don't shake hands."

"Why not?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Too many germs." I replied before brewing a cup of coffee for myself. "Your desk is right next to mine. That was Elle's desk." I looked down.

"So how old are you?" Emily questioned. "No offense, but you look way too young to be a FBI agent."

I took a sip of the terrible coffee. "I'm 23 years old and I've been working here for over a year." I glanced at her. "And I have an IQ of 134, an eidetic memory and can read at least 15 thousand words per minute."

"That's..." Her mouth widened in shock. "Wow, I've never met a genius before."

"There's another one on the team. His name is Spencer Reid." I informed her. "But he's awkward and rambles way more than I do which might mean he has ADHD and was never diagnosed with considering he was already a certified genius and doctors may believe it was part of his personality trait." She stared at me with a confused expression. "And I just rambled."

Emily grinned. "You threw me off with how fast you can talk."

I nodded. "Hopefully we can become friends and you don't think I'm that weird." It was really difficult for me to make a new friend.

"Don't worry about it." She smiled and we walked to our desks. Emily seemed nice and had a temper like Elle. I believe we are going to be great friends.

Hotch stood in front of the team. "Everyone, this is Agent Emily Prentiss." We all eyed the beautiful brunette. "Agent Jennifer Jareau, our Communications Liaisons, SSA Jason Gideon, SSA Derek Morgan, Dr. Spencer Reid, Dr. Cassidy Porter and our Technical Analyst Penelope Garcia." He introduced us.

Emily pointed at me. "She's the one who saved the coffee machine from me."

I smiled while Morgan stared at me with a grin. "Already helping the newbie." He scoffed and I flicked his forehead.

"Settle down, everyone." Hotch scolded us. "A raid was conducted last night and the DEA found a chemical weapons dispersal."

"Terrorism?" I questioned.

"It fits the MO of a sleeper cell." Hotch informed us. "Jind Allah is the leader."

Gideon looked at Hotch. "He's in Guantanamo Bay."

Hotch nodded. "Precisely. Gideon, you should take Prentiss and Reid with you to question Allah. Prentiss if fluent in arabic."

Emily looked intimidated. "Can I take Cassie as well? Her microexpressions expertise may come in handy." Gideon asked.
