"Ahhhh you got your license back?" I remarked as Violet and I stood in her living room.
"Now that I did the DUI class and stuff, I can officially drive again. But, I will tell you one thing, I will still rely on you on Thursday evening," Violet explained.
"That's great Violet oh I am so happy for you," I told her as I hugged her.
Grandma Mary was also happy.
"Sometimes the smallest things are the biggest thing we need to celebrate," Grandma Mary remarked.
"I'm glad you are progressing in other things," I told her.
"Me too I mean I thought I would never drive again. But, Grandma Mary also suggested I go to an open parking lot and drive around and such just to get used to it again," Violet commented.
"I think that's a great idea," I told her as Grandma Mary disappeared back to the kitchen.
"Also, my dad's been writing again," Violet commented.
"Oh?" I asked her.
"Yeah I mean I'm not really wanting to fully develop the parental relationship right now. Like I said months ago, he's a reminder that my mom is gone," Violet expressed.
I frowned.
"Well whatever you decide to do, I will be standing next to you. If writing letters is the only thing you want to do or talk on the phone since he got out in January, do what's best for you Violet. No one can tell you how to feel on this one," I expressed to her.
She smiled at me.
"I knew that's exactly what you would say," she chuckled.
"Exactly. It's your life, Violet," I commented.
She smiled and took a deep breath. She had something else on her mind.
"So anywho you haven't spilled the deets on the weekend with Andy," Violet remarked with a nudge as she changed the subject.
I definitely turned crimson. Of course, there were things I would share. But definitely some I would keep to myself
"Well it went well I mean nothing out of the ordinary," I expressed.
Violet nudged me.
"Nothing out of the ordinary?" she asked.
"The only thing that threw us both for a loop was his brothers were in town on work. Apparently, Mo is doing a show with Andy. So Friday evening after the pottery class, there they were on Andy's front step," I explained.
"Then, wait, the Brothers Gibb? You met the Brothers Gibb?" she asked stunned.
I facepalmed.
"It's not that big of a deal girl," I remarked.
"Yes, it is! You met his brothers like that's crazy," Violet remarked as Grandma Mary brought us some drinks.
"In all due reality Violet, they may end up being my in-laws not to jinx the relationship," I explained.
"Your in-laws wait that's crazy to think but yeah holy crap. How did they react to you?" she asked.
"They were really chill I mean they are just like Andy. Well, I feel like Andy is more shy though," I explained to Violet as Grandma Mary sat down with her crossword puzzle.
"So were they as cool as they were back in the day?" Violet asked me.
"You act like it was some sort of fan-fair meet and greet. They were really happy to meet me and see that Andy is doing well," I remarked.
"Well you are definitely good for Andy," she remarked.
"I do agree on that honey," Grandma Mary pipped in.
I chuckled.
"I didn't even think she was paying attention," I remarked.
"Honey, (Y/N), I'm always listening and paying attention," she told me as she winked.
I rolled my eyes.
"So anyhow, well, how did everything else go? I mean you did sleep over," Violet insisted.
I shook my head.
"That's for me to know and for you to never find out," I teased.
"Violet honey she doesn't kiss and tell," Grandma Mary replied.
"Exactly," I commented.
Violet sighed.
"Okay fineeeeee but like how were the kisses I'm sure he did that at least?" Violet asked.
"I mean comparing it to my previous relationship, way better. Jackson never knew what he was doing," I explained.
Violet chuckled.
"Let's just say this is a re-do on firsts then, right?" Violet asked.
"Definitely. I mean I really think we all have one relationship that requires a lesson. And if we make it out of it alive, then we did our part," I explained.
"You must be so intelligent to think so maturely," Violet commented.
"I've just learned my lessons," I explained.
"So he was kind then? I mean I just want to make sure you are being treated right," Violet told me.
I smiled.
"He's the kindest man I've ever been with. He doesn't seem to even believe that we are like in this relationship like I can't. It's like I'm in another dimension," I explained happily.
"Awwww you are blushing. See I knew he meant a lot more than you led on there for the last year and a half. I knew you started crushing on him and hey it actually turned around," Violet teased.
"Yeah yeah but look now we've been together only 2 months. Who knows what the next few days, weeks and months are gonna bring," I commented as the grandfather clock began to chime.
It was 3. I needed to get home to get some paperwork done for work.
"I know and I just pray every day things do well for you two," Violet told me.
"Me too Violet. It would kill me if something went wrong knowing all his past wrongs done to him and he's done to himself," I commented.
"Right, that's got to be scary," Violet commented.
I sighed. It was scary having someone put so much faith in you.
A lot of things to process.
