Chapter 115

I woke up at 3:30. It was Andy's departure day to London. My mind wasn't ready to let him go.

"Love you got to get up," I told Andy quietly.

He groaned.

"I've barely slept all night," he remarked.

"I'm sorry honey but your flight leaves at 7 so we got to get a move on," I told him as I got up out of bed.

Andy sleepily got out of bed and went straight to the bathroom to shower. He always used that as a mechanism to wake himself up.

I went down the hall to start the coffee and make him breakfast.

By the time Andy would get to London, it would be 1 a.m. by the time he'd get there with all the time zone changes.

After I started cooking sausage for his breakfast, Andy waltzed into the kitchen. He still had sleep in his eyes.

I glanced at the clock and it was ticking closer and closer to 4. We still had plenty of time to get to the airport.

He walked over to the coffee pot and poured us both cups of coffee. It would be the last time for a while before we were in the same room or eating breakfast together.

"I'm gonna end up sleeping on the plane," he remarked.

"The good thing is that Robin will be picking you up and you won't have to worry about getting yourself to a hotel,"  I told him.

"True darling," Andy remarked.

"We got to be at the airport by 6 right?" I asked Andy as I worked on making breakfast.

"Yes, darling we do. I'll get ready after I eat. It's only gonna be 4 anyways," he commented as he brought my coffee mug to me.

Everything seemed bittersweet at the moment.

Andy went to sit down as he just watched me mindlessly go through the kitchen.

After a few minutes of silence, I spoke up.

"Whatcha starring for?" I asked Andy.

"Just taking in this. I'm gonna miss this," he remarked as he quietly sipped his coffee.

"Me too," I told him as I went to check on the eggs.

"But the only good thing is I'm in my comeback and that's all that matters," he commented as he continued to watch me.

"Yes you are and you are gonna do wonderful," I told him as I turned the eggs off.

I looked at the clock and it was a little after 4. I wish the clock had a pause button like a VHS.

As I made him his final breakfast in America, I got really sad. It wasn't gonna be easy but it also was wistful for me to let someone I love again go across the ocean without me.

"Here ya go love," I told him as I gave him his plate.

"Thanks, darling," he told me as I went to get my plate.

I smiled.

And so, we quietly ate breakfast together for the last time. I didn't know when I would see him again after today. With work, and with life, nothing was predictable.

We finished breakfast and we went to get ready. It was getting closer to 5. Sigh.

I threw on a sweatshirt and jeans. The only makeup I put on was blush because I knew for a damn fact I would not be leaving the airport with dry eyes.

"Do you think this would be too warm for the plane ride?" Andy asked as he showed me a white sweatshirt with a graphic on it.

I shook my head.
