"I hope I don't get sunburned or seasick," I remarked as we found a place to sit for the boat tour.
"You'll be fine darling. We put sunscreen on and we brought it. Plus, the captain said it would be smooth sailing for the 4-hour tour," Andy commented.
"I know everything new is scary," I told him.
"We've never really gone boating in Miami did we? When we went?" he asked.
I shook my head.
"No, you showed me the boat house you have. I think we should go to Florida for New Year maybe so we can utilize it," I told him.
"That sounds wonderful darling. I like that idea," he told me as one of the tour guides brought us a pamphlet.
"Thank you," Andy and I said in unison.
She smiled as she walked to the other people on the boat.
"I didn't know they were gonna give us a big lunch-like buffet," Andy remarked as he looked at the itinerary.
I chuckled.
"When I was looking at boat tours with my travel agent, she didn't skimp on finding something that was a bang for the buck," I told him.
"You did figure out every detail," he told me.
"Yeah, I did and you know what, I feel good about it too," I told him as he grabbed my hand.
"I didn't even know they offered boat tours like this," he commented.
"Well, I thought they did exist because of, laugh if you want, "Gilligans Island." They went on a three-hour tour and it turned into a shipwreck," I said sort of quietly.
I didn't want people to think I was manifesting or jinxing the tour.
He chuckled.
"I can see why you looked into it. And Croatia is beautiful. I can't speak the language but I can appreciate a pretty place when I see one," he told me.
"True," I remarked as one of the tour guides told the group to look over the side of the boat.
"What could be going on?" Andy commented as we all went to look.
At least 10 big sea turtles was sailing through the waters.
"Woah," I remarked.
It looked like it was out of a movie.
"Are they going to hibernation?" Andy asked.
"They usually, the females, go to the beach coast to lay eggs around this time of year. They seem to be a bit early but it could be because it's been a dryer season," the tour guide explained to us.
"Oh wow," I remarked.
Andy looked fascinated by the turtles just swimming and heading to the beach coast.
I didn't say anything and just looked at him. He looked so happy.
The boat tour went on and eventually, it was time to eat. The clouds moved in around this time, so they held the lunch inside one of the dining halls.
"This has all been so lovely darling thank you for doing this," Andy told me as we finished up lunch.
After lunch was over, we'd be sailing back to the port.
"I'm glad to have booked it honestly. This goes down as one of the coolest things we've ever done," I told him.
"I wonder if in the states if they do sailing tours in Califorina or Florida," he commented.
"Well, we could probably look into a San Diego Whale Watching tour. There is also a Golden Gate tour as well," I remarked.
"You thoroughly got your information down," he told me proudly.
"Yeah, I wanted to make sure everything was down to the nitty-gritty details. Especially with the fact I wanted us to do something extra special to celebrate you," I told him.
"It means a lot darling that you did this. Speaking of things, where did you want to spread the little box of ashes of your brother?" he asked me.
"Oh shoot I forgot about that. I did talk to the head of the tour and they said it was okay to do it before we got back to the coast," I commented as I got into my purse.
I had two little containers with my brother's ashes. My mom wanted one "at sea." The other she wanted actually spread in Greece.
I pulled the vile out and went to talk to the head of the boat tour. They gave me the okay.
I came back to Andy waiting patiently.
"So?" he asked.
"She told me I could throw it off the side of the boat whenever. I know that doesn't sound exactly like spiritual or nice but she gave me the okay," I remarked as I looked at the vile.
"Well I'm here darling for whatever you need," he told me as he rubbed my back.
I took a deep breath.
I kissed the little vile and I threw it into the ocean.
"Love you Joshy," I whispered.
Andy wrapped me in a hug.
I wasn't okay still with what transpired over the summer with Josh. But, at least he would be everywhere.
"It'll be okay darling," he told me.
It was a good thing I didn't wear makeup cause the silent tears started to fall.
"I'll be okay eventually," I told him as the tour guide announced they had a custard cake waiting for all of us.
"It's like the universe knew you needed something sweet," Andy joked.
I laughed as I wiped my tears off my face.
"Let's go get that cake," I told him as he let go of the embrace.
As we walked, he grabbed my hand.
A beautiful day in a place I never dreamed I'd get to see.
