"Okay last kiss under the mistletoe," I remarked as we finished taking down all the Christmas stuff.
Despite Christmas only being on Thursday, I didn't want to have to come home next week after work to clean up Christmas. So, once the sun rose and we got ready, we started taking stuff down around the house.
"And just like that, the holidays are over," Andy remarked.
I sighed. It was nice to start our second full year together in a few days. It was also weird because Violet would be living abroad away from me for the first time.
"I think 1987 will be pretty decent. I just cannot believe Violet will be living abroad for the rest of her studies," I remarked as I began my trek to the garage where all the Christmas stuff was kept.
"It'll be fine darling. I'm sure during the year sometime, you can fly out to visit her, and or she'll come home to visit you," he told me.
"That's a good point but like who knows really what the next year holds," I told him.
"Well I know one thing, us," he told me.
"True," I replied smiling at him.
"I also want to try and get my pilot license and get back into the studio," he told me.
"Pilot license?" I asked him.
"Yeah I hadn't said anything yet but I'm hoping to start classes and get my hours done next year," he explained.
"That's wonderful honey I'm excited for you," I told him.
"Yeah so I'll be going to Florida to work in the studio with my brothers and work on getting the license," he told me.
"So we are gonna do long distance then?" I asked him as we walked out of the garage.
"I was hoping to at least during those days and weeks I'm in Florida working on music," he told me.
I felt selfish inside thinking I would be alone this New Year. Violet would be thousands of miles away and Andy would be too.
He finally had his life in order.
"So when are you gonna go to the studio?" I asked.
"Sometime during the year. We haven't figured it out yet since my brothers are doing their album first," he explained.
"Oh okay," I told him.
"As for the pilot license, I could do some of my hours here in Califorina so I may not be gone the entire year," Andy commented.
"Oh okay," I remarked again.
I didn't know what to say at this point.
"And we're hoping the demos I record this coming year will help me land a record label for the following year," he explained as we went to sit down in the living room.
"Well, I hope it does work out for you honey. You have come so far in the last year," I told him as we relaxed.
We had been going nonstop taking down Christmas decorations for the last 3 hours.
"Just don't think I'll forget you or leave you behind. You are gonna go with me into these new chapters too," he told me.
I sighed.
"I know but I mean I can't easily take off to Florida you know that," I told him.
"I'm not worried about you doing that. We'll make it work," he told me.
"We will make it work," I told him as he grasped my hand.
To the New Year.
