Andy had been back to Florida by himself to work on some stuff with his brothers. Because of work, I couldn't tag along. But as soon as he came home, I was waiting there at the airport for him. It was a busy Saturday afternoon at the airport. I was spending the night at Andy's place again.
I was cliche and waited with flowers. I just worried that he would walk off the plane with someone else on his arm. Of course overthinking.
I scanned the crowd after knowing his plane had landed.
My eyes finally spotted him and he saw me.
I didn't call his name just to avoid the extra attention.
"Hi,"I remarked as he wrapped me in a hug.
"I missed you," he whispered as he held me.
I tried my best not to crush his flowers.
I held his face in my hand and caressed his cheek. He looked tired.
"Let's go get your luggage and go back to your house," I told him.
He smiled at me as he reached for my hand.
We have been officially together now for almost 3 months. He officially gave me a key to his house to take care of Sam and his house while he was gone. We were in too deep already.
We got settled into the car and I paused before even pulling out of the airport parking lot.
"How are you?" I asked him to break the silence.
He chuckled.
"Better now that I'm with you. It was weird being away from you," he remarked as I buckled up.
He did the same.
"It was weird being away from you too. We've been inseparable for like half a year already?" I asked him as we began the drive to his house.
"Yeah, I know. I missed seeing you and loving on you," he remarked quietly.
I smiled to my smile as we got stuck in traffic.
"Loving on me?" I asked him.
"Yeah I mean, you know, I think you can tell physical touch is part of my love language," he explained.
"I know I just like hearing you talk about it," I teased as I looked at him.
The traffic had come to a complete stop because of the airport traffic.
He rolled his eyes.
"You are a tease aren't ya?" he asked.
"Perhaps," I alluded.
He chuckled at my comment.
"Woman you are killing me," he joked.
I shook my head.
"Also, not to change the subject, are we still sort of secret? I mean the article a while ago only acted like we were friends or something," I commented.
"Yeah, I think we still are. I mean I know that it's probably in our best interest to keep things on the low because of previous things that have happened when I was in a relationship publicly. Not jinxing it or anything I promise darling. I'm just being," he remarked.
I finished his sentence.
"Cautious? I totally understand where you are coming from. I know you also enjoy the normalcy we have just the two of us behind closed doors," I replied as the traffic moved a bit.
He leaned over and kissed my cheek.
"You are the most understanding person I've ever known and I can't say enough how thankful I am for you," he replied.
Everything was slowly coming together in the relationship. The first day jitters were gone. We were both fully being our true selves.
"Like I told you when we first met, you are human and I see you as "Andy Gibb" the person. Not "Andy Gibb" the name," I explained.
"That's the nicest thing anyone ever told me and it's stuck with me," he replied.
"I know and I don't know why people aren't the same way," I expressed.
"It's frustrating but I got you now," he told me proudly.
"Yeah, you do. We got each other," I remarked.
We slowly arrived back at his place. Andy grabbed the flowers off the dash as he got out of the car.
I had kept Sam company all week while Andy was away which hopefully made things easier on the pup.
"Here you are home sweet home," I remarked as we walked up the driveway.
He sighed contently.
I was pulling his bags up behind me.
"You know darling, I could pull my own luggage, right?" he asked chuckling.
"Well yeah, but I just felt like," I began to explain as we stopped at the front door.
He kissed me. He didn't even kiss me at the airport.
After a few, he pulled away.
"You do too much for me," he expressed as I took the house key out of my pocket to unlock the door.
"I might but that's cause gift-giving and doing things is sort of my love language," I told him as he took the key from me and unlocked the door.
He would probably freak out at the fact I also managed to clean his house (including his sheets) as well. Sam also had been well-kept.
"Darling did you clean my entire house?" he asked.
"Well yeah, I did," I explained as we walked into the house.
Sam waltzed right over to Andy. He had him for a little over 3 years. Sam would also be so mad the first few days after Andy got back. But, he'd sleep outside his door tonight.
"I missed you, Sam," Andy remarked as he petted him.
I smiled as I took his luggage to his room. Whether he'd unload it tonight or tomorrow, that was his call.
After a few, he joined me in his room.
"And now I see you cleaned and did my bed too. What did I do to deserve this?" he asked as he looked at me.
I looked down at my feet. It was a nervous tick if you'd call it that.
"I just wanted you to come home and be comfortable," I told him.
"That's really sweet of you darling. How do I ever repay you?" he asked me as he took his shoes off.
"I don't expect a repayment," I told him.
He looked me up and down.
"Well, what if we got comfortable and watched television or something?" he asked me as he sat down on his bed.
"That would be lovely Andrew," I told him.
To a nice afternoon with my boyfriend. Wait, boyfriend? It sounds so weird but makes my heart so happy.
