"This restaurant is so cute Violet," I told her as we went to sit outside.

We were in Greece now. Andy had stayed back at the hotel while Violet and I went out to eat brunch.

"Right? My professor suggested this restaurant when I told her I was taking a quick trip over the weekend," Violet responded as we got menus.

"How nice. It seems like everyone over here is so much kinder than in America," I told Violet as we looked for something to drink.

I wanted some kind of coffee and found something called a "Freddo cappuccio" on the menu.

"What are you gonna get?" I asked Violet.

"Probably a regular coffee if they even sell that," she remarked as she looked at the menu.

I chuckled.

"It's probably espresso like most countries do in Europe," I told her.

"Ohhhhhh that's probably why I can't find just "coffee" on the menu," she remarked as the waiter came back to get our drink order.

We ordered and went back to the conversation.

"So anyhow, I cannot believe you'll be coming home in December," I remarked.

Violet smiled.

"I know a whole year in Amsterdam has gone by pretty quickly. I cannot believe it's almost over," Violet commented.

"I'm glad you'll be home though. It feels super empty without you if I'm being honest here," I told her as we glanced at the menu to order food.

I really wanted to try something authentic and found the Greek omelet listed. Since it was later than a normal breakfast, the fact it had listed a lot more sides was good.

"What are you going to get?" I asked Violet.

"Probably the Halva. It sounds really good and will go well with my coffee," Violet commented as the waiter came to take our order.

And so, we ordered and went back to conversing about life.

"Okay we have that hot balloon ride booked for tomorrow, right?" Violet confirmed.

"Yes yes I never thought of riding in a hot air balloon in the States," I told her.

She paused.

"Wait you've never thought about it? You know there's this huge fiesta in New Mexico every year that does a showcase of different kinds of balloons?" Violet asked.

"Wait really? Like you can take rides?" I asked her.

"Yes, but it's like a festival for like a week, and all different pilots from around the world head to Albuquequerqe to participate. They even have balloons shaped like people or animals," she explained.

"How do you know all this?" I asked her.

"The pilot giving us the ride tomorrow he's heading to Albuquerque in a few weeks for the festival," Violet explained.

"I wonder if he'll be willing to let us know about the whole event. I'm sure Andy would love to do that once we get back home," I told her.

"It sounds cool to go. I mean if you guys do go, please photograph it," Violet told me.

Around this time, our brunch came out. All I had on my mind was getting tickets to this balloon fiesta thingy.

After Violet and I finished brunch, we headed back to our hotel and went our separate ways till the evening. I came into the room and Andy was sitting on the bed with a notebook.

"Hi love," I remarked.

"Hi darling how was brunch?" he asked as I walked over to the bed.

I put my purse down and joined him.

"Good good. Violet had a good eye for the restaurant," I told him.

"That's good," he remarked.

"Whatcha working on?" I asked.

"This song idea I got about water. It's not much on paper," he explained.

"Let me see," I remarked as I looked at the paper.

It had a really nice composition to it.

"Till the water runs dry," I sort of sang.

"See when I hear it out loud it sounds great. On paper, it looks awful," he remarked.

"It'll come together don't worry," I told him.

"Anyhow let's not focus on this. Did you still want to go shopping?" he asked me as he shut the notebook.

"Oh yeah I did. But before that I have a question for you," I asked.

"What's up?" he asked.

"Well Violet reminded me about our balloon ride tomorrow. She found out that in the states there is some sort of fiesta festival thingy in New Mexico in October that does a whole week of hot air balloons. Do you think we can get out there and get it all planned when we get back?" I asked.

"They do a fiesta festival of hot air balloons in the states? Why did I never know that?" he asked.

"I didn't either. Violet said the pilot would probably have more information that he could give us. People from around the world flock to Albuquerque to participate in it. There are even balloons that are shaped like people and things," I explained.

"That sounds like a lot of fun. Are tickets supposed to be bought in advance?" Andy asked.

I shook my head.

"I have no clue. We will find out more tomorrow from the balloonist Violet booked us," I told him.

"That would be fun though. Is it like an early event or like at night did Violet know?" he asked.

"I didn't even ask. I'm assuming it's morning but there could be evening events too," I told Andy.

His eyes were now lit up with curiosity and wonder.

"I hope we didn't have to buy those tickets months in advance. I want us to go now," Andy commented.

"Me too. Once Violet spoke about it more in detail, I was like we need to go when we get back," I told him.

"It is in October right?" he asked.

"Yeah she said it starts in the beginning of October," I told him.

"We got some time when we get home. Wait what about your job?" he asked.

"Depending, I could call out sick or see if I have any PTO built up yet. This vacation didn't count since it was already booked before hand me even starting there," I told him.

"Okay then we got a solid plan then until we get the final details," he remarked.

End-of-year adventures were brewing.
