We returned to the castle stained in paint and dyes, laughing and in each others arms. It was like we were in our own happy world.
The guards that were already inside the castle, stared at us. Prince Gabriel continued to laugh and I smiled at him.
"Now I know why my maids dressed me in such a simple but lovely dress," I said.
Prince Gabriel stopped laughing but he was smiling. "I hope that dress didn't became your favorite."
"It didn't."
Prince Gabriel took my hand. "Listen, I want to tell you something but I must let you go so that your maids can prepare you for dinner."
"Okay, but you better tell me," I said as we began to walk to the spiral staircase.
"I will, promise."

Elena and Penny had the brightest faces when I entered the room. They curtsied to Prince Gabriel and hid their giggles with their hands. Prince Gabriel was a funny sight.
Prince Gabriel smiled at me then he turned to the maids. "She is a full of beautiful colors, isn't she?"
"Yes, your Highness, she is," Elena replied.
Penny nodded.
Prince Gabriel looked like he wanted to laugh but instead he stepped away and waved at me and closed the door.
Elena and Penny squealed once the door was closed.
"Looks like you two had a splash of fun," Penny said, smiling.
I laughed. "We certainly did."
Elena and Penny both gave each other looks. Then Penny stepped up.
"Now let's get you all clean up," she said.
Elena nodded. "I'll start the bath." Then she headed over to the bathroom door and soon disappeared inside.
Penny helped me out of my paint stained dress. "Unfortunately this dress can't be worn again, those dyes are very difficult to be taken off."
"It's okay, I understand," I said.
I thought about home from there. Dresses really didn't last long in their elegant, pretty state back home, they had to get dirty and ripped at some point. Most of my dresses back home in my closet were faded, ripped, stained with something that couldn't go away with every wash, and old.
I started to feel guilty that I was here having fun while they were working right this moment with their starving stomachs.
This was the glamorous, royal life. This life I was given out of luck, out of many ladies that passed that royal carriage that one night in front of the Gathering House.
I didn't belong here.
Oh I have to get away.

The water slowly turned to a mixture of red, green, blue, yellow, and purple. I scrubbed my body well and washed my hair.
Soon the lonely thoughts went away and was replaced with the joyous date.
I smiled from there on. I called for my maids.
"All the paint and dye is off you now," Elena commented. "We have your gown ready for dinner tonight."
"Thank you." They pulled me up and I immediately grabbed the towel out of Penny's hands and wrapped it around me.
