I couldn't follow Gabriel, he told me the truth should be told by him. But then again, what if he secretly needed me. I shook my head. No, Ezra, this is a family problem, don't get involved. I ended up heading to the kitchen, hoping that Gabriel would be okay.

I knocked on the kitchen door. Were they ready to see me? Did they thought I just left without saying goodbye? Were they given an explanation?

The door opened and Camilla looked at me. "Ezra? Is that you?"

At that moment, I heard footsteps behind her and then soon the door was wide opened. Brody and Levi appeared behind Camilla.

"Ezra! You're back!" Levi cheered then he swooped me in his arms.

I laughed. Then Brody hugged me.

I guess they were ready to see me all along.

"It's great to see you all! I miss you all terribly! It has been a year!"

I entered the kitchen. They were preparing brunch and it looked like they were almost done.

"We missed you too!" Brody said as he pulled out a stool from underneath the table. He gestured for me to sit down.

I sat down. "I hope you all didn't thought I left without saying goodbye."

Camilla shook her head. "When I heard that you were gone from one of the guards, I couldn't believe it. I knew you wouldn't leave without saying goodbye. Then Gabriel walked in himself, the sight was surprising to see, and then explained to us."

"What did he said?" I asked.

"He just said that you didn't left on your own accord. That there were also circumstances that kept you from returning as well."

"Oh," I said. "Well what he said was true. I was escorted out and things weren't going right with me and the royals at the moment. I was caught in something and that was what got me to be escorted out."

Why aren't you telling them of the affair? Ruin the queen!

Except I couldn't do that. Queen Keira did that to herself ever since she betrayed her marriage and her king.

Camilla, Brody and Levi all seemed to notice that I didn't want to get into details so they moved the subject to their lives. It looks like Levi met a girl, Brody got a short break and got to visit his family, and Camilla now has the time to visit her own.

"Prince Gabriel really made the time for us to live our lives out of the kitchen," Camilla said.

I smiled. "He has, did he?"

"Well are you back for good?" Brody asked.

"I may be," I said. "I just need to do some things before I'm back for good."

"Are you going to leave your family?" Levi asked. "And I mean that in the most kindly way."

I nodded. "It's okay, I didn't got offended. My family, well, I'm not sure. I may have to get back to you on that question later."

Will my family come live in the castle or will they stay?

I really did have to get back to that.

There was a knock on the door. We all turned to the door as it opened.

Gabriel stepped in. He smiled at me, faintly and I looked back to my friends.

"I'll leave you back to your work," I said. "It was great to catch up with you and oh I hope you may accept me back to the kitchen to help."
