Ever since Gabriel showed me the acceptance of his advisors, everything had went into a blur of moments. He brought me to his father, King Gavin, and he took my hands in his and told me that I was the perfect girl for Gabriel. He also added that this kingdom needed a change and with me along, I could start a change. The change, well that was up to everyone -and me.

After speaking with King Gavin for a while, Gabriel reluctantly brought me to his mother, Queen Keira. She was in a separate bedroom. Ever since the reveal of her shameful affair, King Gavin removed her from their grand quarters. Before I entered the room, Gabriel stopped me.

"Ezra, if she threatens you, you come right out of there and I'll go in, okay?" Gabriel squeezed my hand as his eyes looked into mine.

I pressed my lips. "Gabriel, I can defend myself. I can deal with your mother. She has done worse things than threaten me. She threw me out of the castle and she separated us. I'll be fine."

Gabriel looked at me a little more before reaching for the knob. He gave my hand another squeeze and then he let me go. I gave him a reassuring smile and then I entered the dark room.

The door closed behind me and I walked forward. Even though the room was dark, I could still spot Queen Keira. She was sitting on an armchair next to a table with two candles. She had a letter in her hand and it looked like she wanted to tear it apart but she kept playing with the edges. She was staring at the flickering fire, and it was like she didn't knew I was there.

She still had her jewelry and she still wore her beautiful gown. What was different was that her hair wasn't in braid and ribbons and she didn't wore her crown. Her hair was in a simple ponytail. It still looked lovely but it was strange seeing such a hairstyle on a queen.

Whenever she wasn't wearing her grand crown, she wore a crown that fits like a hairband. I saw neither of those on her head. It looked like she was going to be removed of something else.

I cleared my throat and I opened my mouth to speak.

"Never would I have thought you'll see me in my despair." She turned around to look at me. I closed my mouth. "Never mind." She gave a tiny smile. "I did. I see you have taken my place." She eyed me over. "That was your plan all along, was it? After I thrown you out, you made a plan to get your revenge! My crown will be taken away from me just because you gave courage to my son to tell." She slowly got up from her chair and she scrunched the letter in her hand. "You took my place in royal society!"

"As it should," I said. "Queen Keira, you never deserved all of this-"

"Of course I did not!"

"I mean, you did not deserve the luxury that you have been born into," I said. Queen Keira looked shock at my reply and I continued. "The power you were given and the large amount of support and love that you've gotten," I shook my head, "you don't deserve it. You've caused so much pain. Your husband is suffering of a broken heart, your son is never going to feel that same connection with you and then there goes your son, the love child, he will keep the identity of his true father a secret for his entire life. It is all because of you."

"I hate you," Queen Keira told me. "And I hope your reign will die quickly."

"Like yours?"

"My Asher was taken away from me!" She sunk back into her hair. "My Asher has been taken away from me." She started to cover her face with her hands and then she started to cry. "I can't live without him!" She put her hands down and her face was full of pink and black. "He has been sent to a kingdom far from me and it would take a month to get there. He's been sent to a kingdom across the sea. He's going to meet someone else. He will forget about me and our son."
