I was near the entrance of the castle gates. I had to snuck in there. I had to tell Gabriel the truth. It wasn't long till the day got dark again. I returned to the entrance after I ate and went into the seamstress's shop. I had an idea but I'm not sure how I would get in the castle. I looked. I observed. I had to get pass those guards. But how?
There was only one way to enter. I needed to fool those guards. I had to disguise myself. I looked closely at their uniforms and I rushed back to the seamstress's shop.

The next afternoon, I wore the guards' uniform and helmet. I must have been the shortest guard there was. I quietly marched up to the castle gates. I cleared my throat as the guard inside turned to see me.
"You look young," he commented.
"I'm new, sir." Now let me in!
"I don't remember recruiting more guards," he said, as he narrowed his eyes on me.
"I was told a week ago," I said. "Now please, I need to get to the post, King Gavin won't like it if one of us weren't in his post."
He looked me over once more and then stepped aside and waved at the other guard and the gates were opened.
I took a deep breath and walked in. "I must hurry, my good man." Then I ran off and into the castle.
Hmm, that was easy.
It has been months since I last stepped into this castle and with the different furniture, portraits and flowers, they made the interior of the castle looked unrecognizable. I looked at the other guards in the room and they watched me. I nodded at them but before they questioned me, I ran up the steps.
I had to find Gabriel.
I was at the door of his room and I took a deep breath. I was about to knock till I heard voices. Not just Gabriel's but a woman's.
What the-
I leaned my ear against the door.
"Are you sure this is the selection of girls that are not looking for love in marriage?" I heard Gabriel asked and my heart dropped.
"Yes, Prince Gabriel," the woman said. "These girls will also bring great power to your kingdom."
"Yes, thank you for telling me that," Gabriel spoke.
"Your Highness, if I may ask," the woman said. "Why did you rejected the last princess that arrived here two weeks ago?"
"She wasn't her," Gabriel responded, solely. "Don't ask that again, I only asked for the selection."
"Of course, Your Highness."
"You may go," Gabriel said. "I'll ask for you again once I picked my choices."
I backed away from the door and hid behind a corner. What was Gabriel going to do?
I heard the door open and steps then the steps faded away. I stepped out into the open. Gabriel's door was closed and I knocked.
The door opened, revealing a distressed looking Gabriel, with the book in his hand.
He frowned at me. "I don't think I called you, is there a reason why you're here?"
I stared at him. It had been months since I last saw him. That feeling down in my chest started to flutter and sparks started. I knew it was ridiculous to stop loving him. The thing was that I never stopped. He looked like the prince I first saw, all superior and sharp... showing no warmth I last saw in him. My heart dropped.
