I have stopped crying and I knew that I had to present myself well to the royal family so I wiped my tears away. I did my hair into a braid and I looked down at my skirt. It was still clean. Good, I thought.
Why did Queen Keira had the royal guards wait outside the gathering place? What did she want me for? Why me?
I took a deep breath and silently told myself to not cry. I didn't want to appear weak in front of them. I wouldn't make a fool of myself. I would be strong, just like my family told me to.
The carriage stopped. This was it. I would finally know why I was brought here. The door to my right opened and I took a deep breath once again. I took the guard's hand and got off the carriage. Once I was off, another guard closed the door and the carriage began moving away.
The castle's doors looked so huge. I looked up and the towers were so high. I never thought I would have ever stood in front of the castle doors.
Two guards at each side of the double doors opened the door for me and the guards who took me. The view of the grand stairs and the height of where it goes made me gasped. I reminded myself to walk forward when I saw the two guards walk inside.
Here I went, my first steps into the castle. When I was in, the door closed behind me. I took a look around my surroundings. The walls were peach color and the end of the stairs looked to be bigger than my house.
This castle was huge. I looked to my left and there was a portrait of the royal family. The king looked as powerful as I remembered him to be and the queen still hadn't lost her strong glare.
The prince looked older from when I last saw him. He caught up to his father in height. His green eyes were more intimidating than his mother's. He was handsome.
I turned away and I looked up. Just above my head was a chandelier that held the most amount of candles I have ever seen. I walked forward a bit. At each side of me was another set of double doors, although much smaller than the entrance.
There were about six chandeliers. Two leading up the stairs, the one at the entrance, and three chandeliers as I could see from when the staircase separated into two staircases at the center, going left and right.
"Miss Ezra, we will escort you to the royal family," one of the guards said.
I nodded.
With one guard in front of me, and behind me, they led me to a hallway just right of the grand staircase.
I looked at the elegant furnitures all around. This castle was beautiful. Finally we stopped in front of another set of double doors to my right.
"Wait here till I have announced your arrival," the guard told me. He opened one set of door and stepped in.
"Your Majesty and Highness, I have found a girl that would fit to your liking." Liking, I thought?
"Bring her in," I heard the Queen said. I never noticed but she had such a steady and soft voice.
"Yes," the guard said. He appeared in the hallway again and gestured for me to go in.
My heart raced and I wished my legs would stop shaking now. I walked in and Queen Keira was sitting at one of the puce with white floral patterns couches. I could only see the back of her head. Her hair was sparkling with gold thin ribbons and tied up into an up do.
This was the living quarters. There were two couches in the room. A tray of tea and sandwiches sat on the table in the center of the room, between the two couches.
There was another chandelier in this room hanging in the center of the room. I didn't notice but at one corner of the room, Prince Gabriel was pacing. He looked rather upset.
