I woke up. The first thing I saw was the fireplace facing my bed. I sighed. I thought it was a terrible nightmare that I was taken away from my family to make the Prince fall in love with me but as I saw from the elegant room, it was not.

It was real.

It was an hour before the knockings at my door started. It was time to get ready for breakfast with the royal family.

I got off my bed, walked over to the door and opened it. Two maids, like the Queen said, was at my door.

"Miss Ezra, we will be your maids. We are here to get you ready." And so they did.

They started a bath for me, dressed me into a gorgeous purple gown in which they tightened the corset very tight, they fixed my hair in a braid and put silver sparkling ribbons through every loop. They even put light makeup on me.

I never wore makeup, it was no use when you sweat everyday in the garden. I wondered what my family was doing. Probably waking up to pick more fruits and vegetables.

At last, my maids helped me into high heel shoes. They made me try a practice run in them but it was hard to walk in them. They gave me flats instead and that I can walk easily in.

They had introduced themselves as Elena and Penny. They were the first friendly people I met in this castle.

"There now, you look lovely!" Penny happily said.

"Yes, indeed. Ready?" Elena asked.

"Yes," I said. "I am."

"A piece of advice, don't let the royals get to you," Elena said and then we were off.

I followed them through the hallways and down the stairs. Finally we were at the main entrance and we stopped at the double doors to my left.

"This is it, go in," Penny said. "Good luck."

I nodded. "Okay. Thank you." I reached for the knob and turned it. "Here I go."

I entered into the dining room and the royals were already there chatting. The food hasn't been laid out yet.

The door made a thump sound when it closed and it caused the royals to stop talking and looked at me.

"Your Majesties and Highness," I said as I curtsied. "Good morning."

"Good morning, Ezra!" Queen Keira said. "You will be seated next to Gabriel."

I walked over to my seat and sat down.

"So is this the peasant girl, Keira?" King Gavin asked.

At the same time, Prince Gabriel turned to me and said, "Good morning."

"Good morning," I said as the Queen answered King Gavin.

"Interesting," King Gavin said. "Well good morning Ezra, I hope your first night here was comfortable."

"Yes it was, your Majesty."

"Good to hear. I want my guests to feel comfortable during their stay," King Gavin said.

"Yes, very comfortable indeed."

The king nodded and went back to speak with his son. Must be about royal affairs or something of the sort. The Queen's strong glare was making me self conscious.

Should I start up conversation? No I couldn't. What could I talk about to some royals? Oh the plants are growing well and we are trying to produce as much before Winter.

Nothing.

"So Ezra, I will join you in your dance lessons," Queen Keira said.

"Okay," I said. At the same time, breakfast was being served. The butlers set down our plates in front of us and then at the same time, pull the cover away.
